I am the
Full Tilt rep for CA/AZ/NV and the team manager for
Porters I just want to throw that out there to avoid getting called out on being biased.
That being said, the best thing you can do for your ski boots fit is to visit an experienced boot fitter. Even if they don't carry Full Tilt, if your bootfitter has been at it for years, they are going to know how the flexon (what FTs are based on) fits. If nothing else, they will be able to tell you what size boot you should be in, and how much volume there is to your foot. In my experience, FTs fit well for anyone with a medium width volume or below. The booter is the widest feeling model because it has the thinest softest liner. At least go into a shop, be up front with a bootfitter that you want to order that boot online, and get your foot fitted. It will give the shop an incentive to carry the brands you want in the future.
As far as flex goes, the booter is pretty soft. What type of flex you ski is completely and utterly your personal preference. I have never, ever had shin bang since going to the Full Tilts and I suffered from it so badly for years and years beforehand. There is a great video of Seth talking about why he doesn't get shin bang because of the way the boot is designed
here. I also worked with Porters to make a bunch of videos about FT for their website. One helping you figure out which is right for you is
here. There should be others up soon.
Let me know if this helps at all, and feel free to ask any FT questions here or pm me.
