How are YOU gonna do it...?

Let's be serious, a vast majority of us are poor ass young bucks.  This past year has been righteously fulfilled with massive amounts of pow shredding, park slaying, groomer slicing, rail damaging fun we all do on our two planks that we stupidly buckle into with heavy boots on, praying our feet don't come unattached.

As everyone can see, this fall is gonna be JAMPACKED with ski movies from absurd amounts of professional ski companies along with exremely talented amateur companies.  So many teasers and NOT EVEN ONE OF THEM IS SUB-PAR.

So, my question is, how are you gonna get your excitement from these movies when released?  I usually buy several a year.  Those several are usually an easy choice.  This year, not so much. 

Lastly, since I've put this dilemma into your mind, if you can't afford the movies, please don't short change any of these companies either by pirating bootleg copies.  These companies work hard to get their foot in the door and they do it to benefit you guys.  They're in the same boat too, poor ass skiers just trying to get by (most at least).

Sparknotes:  So many movies being released, how are you gonna choose what to buy/see them all?

Ill probably buy the ones which have the most appealing trailer to me and with my fav skiers in it.

christmas is gonna be a good year haha. my birthdays in november as well so maybe ill get some from that. ive already pre ordered the mothederland and jack borlands film. Up in Snow, Such is life, slamina, turbo

TRUTH! Its one thing to watch Auclair's seggy from 13 on youtube, its another thing to download full 07-08 releases. Support companies that put out dope products! They won't stay in business otherwise. Especially make sure you go out of your way to support amateur filmmakers that pour their heart and souls into movies. 4bi9, Stept, Field Productions (although I don't think we can really call them amateurs anymore), Meatheads. All these guys bust their asses all year to make 30-45 minutes of bangin material. Show your support.

Good thread, and props on the Anti-Pirating thing. 
I would say Turbo is a safe bet to buy... everyone should get that....and, the the Massive will blow minds.  And for Am films you're not worried about, just wait until those who have pre-ordered them get them.  There'll be threads about the yays and nays of them....

id have to disagree im a broke college kid i got enough expensives to worry about, every aspect of skiing a rip of from the 80 dollar lift tickets to the 500 dollar skis (which the mark up on these is rediculious) to jackets which cost 400 dollars just because they have shawn whites name on it to dvds that cost 25+ bucks yes i will by a few but when im shellin out thousands of my dollars taht i busted my ass for all year i have the right to burn some of my friends vids...in most of the pro vids their all sponsered they get all their stuff for free anyways, hell jon olson has a lamborgini and i know its different for the smaller compies that need the money to get by but im sorry if i sound like an asshole or a jack ass and i bet ill get shit for this but skiing expensive get by doing what you can how many of you have stole from a mountain i bet most peopl try and pocket some food instead of payin 6 bucks for a burger...just sayin get by wherfe you can

shit costs money, just cause you are on a budget means its okay to take whatever you want?
i understand not having any money..thats why im not even watching the trailers this year. i dont want to buy any. but it costs a lot of money to make a ski movie. and frankly im suprised they get enough circulation to cover their costs.

you're a retard to try and compare an amateur or pro film company to an establishment such as a ski resort.  ALL  or a good protion of film companies revenues go into making the movies...cameras, software, computers, time, expenses.  Amateur companies will not make money in the long run especially where they only charge around $15 for their movies.  They make the movies so YOU can enjoy them at a small cost...keep being a dick and trying to get by for free you won't see many of these small companies survive because all of their money went into making the movies but not getting anything in return for it.  Also, now that we know your going to attempt to rip DVD's, it becomes easily trackable to take legal action...

I don't think you realize that ski resorts and clothing companies are for profit companies.  They are trying to make money...Most of these film companies are just trying to cover costs to make their movies

i guessi came off harsh i was just gettin pissed about all these kids talkin about Anti-Pirating when i bet every one has downloaded music, burnt a cd, seen a boot leg movie, or even downloaded one

Yeah, i'm not saying don't do that stuff.  Most of that stuff, downloading music, burning a cd, or movie, has already made money, or will make money because it appeals to everyone.  Ski films on the other hand, only appeal to skiers...freeskiing films whether it be park, pow, pipe, or urban only appeal generally to its riders so there isn't quite the market...hence why most of these film companies put everything they have into making these movies and try to sell them to cover the costs and whatnot.  There is little, to any, margin for them to work with...especially the amateurs
