I used to think they were a very friendly company. I thought supporting this upstart company would be a good idea.
I sent my skis to Surface in April. Paying $130 some odd dollars for shipping from Ontario to Utah.
This was for warranty purpose. During the season the tip of my left ski cracked all the way through the core and was being held on by the p-tex base.
Mike Schneider and I/my parents agreed to send the skis in for him to look at to see if a warranty could be issued.
Mike @ Surface sends:
Thanks for the mail - I have been exchanging emails with your son in hopes
of getting him set up on a new pair of
skis. For warranty issues I ALWAYS ask the customer to send the skis back
so that we can analyze them. This is the
case for every ski company in the industry. This is something that we would
need to do to replace the skis with a
new pair.
With that being said, he can send them back to us to the following
address: xxxxxxxx
Replied to with:
Which shipper/courier do you/we use and who is picks up this cost?
(no answer to this question...)
[skis shipped to surface at our expense. Not wicked, but understandable]
Mike later sends:
Hello.
This email is to let you know that your Surface Watch Life warranty
replacement ski will go out from Salt Lake City on
Monday 4/28 via UPS - a tracking# will follow.
Best regards,
Surface
No skis have been received. A few more emails have been sent his way with no reply...
