Yeah, i dont really care if you tell me to go to the doctor, if it keeps up a few more days im going to the doctor, but i was just looking for a few ideas of what might be causing this problem. The past 2-3 days ive been having some dizzy spells, like 2 days ago i was talking with my students, i coach sailing, but i shifted my weight to my right foot, got dizzy then fell over, then like 4-5 times this morning i would just get super dizzy and have to grab onto shit or sit down. Any ideas, ive had no change in diet, no change in anything really, im not dehydrated so i really have no clue what could be causing this, if it keeps up tomorrow i might swing by the doctor wed. morning but i really have no time i work 8-5 so NS find me some answers
this is super extreme but my friend was doin the same thing and he had diabetes and his sugar was low. dont take that for a warning but yeah, check it out
the fact that you have no changes besides the dizziness is weird. could be anything from not enough sugar or iron in ur system, to somthin that could be serious. id say go with the plan of getting it checked out if it occurs again in the next few days. you dont want that shit happening while driving a car or operating heavy machinery.
sorry for the 3rd post but after a quick search this site may help. it tells you about different types of dizzinesses and how they feel and what happens during, and most importantly what it could be...may help you
good chance if youre teaching sailing, like i do, you go swimming or in the water. you could have alot of water in your ear which messes up your balance. possibly a serious case of swimmers ear, and if you stand up too quickly it effects you strongly. if it doesnt go away in another 2-3 days id say get it checked out
one is called syncope, or near syncope. it is basically fainting. it can be caused by mucho many things, but generally they are cardiac related. unless you have a congenital heart defect (which you almost certainly would already be aware of), you most likely are not experiencing cardiac related syncope or near syncope.
low blood sugar can also cause symptoms like what you described. it can also happen for many different reasons. not eating enough, eating too much (refractory hypoglycemia, look that shit up haha), drinking too much the night before etc etc. however, when your glucose is low, you get a very unique feeling which is called diaphoresis. when you are diaphoretic you get cool clammy skin, dizzy or weak (shaky), tired, and cant think straight.
basically it could be low blood sugar but there would have to be an accompanying reason. do you carb load? take a creatine supplement with a ton of dextrose in it? eat a monster breakfast with gravy? are you hungover? these are things that would cause hypoglycemia in a guy like you.
are there any associated signs and symptoms? any medications? allergies? and anything else pertinent about the event?
i cant guess just yet. ill take another read after i post this.
only one person has said it before, but a more likely problem would be inner ear issues. its much more common than diabetes and easier to treat. go to the doctor though
my friends dad had something similar to this....he actually had a really really bad ear infection that was fucking with his equilibrium i believe it was
>You are a sailing instructor. >You got water in your ear at somepoint within in the last 2weeks. >It didn't come out.It has gone stagnant and has caused an infection. or >It has slowly drained in to your inner ear causing a real loss in balance.
I would;
>Shake your head violently, see if it happens then. > Go to a Doctor, get some antibiotics. >Go to a Doctor and get your ears seringed.
it probably is some sort of ear infection. my guess is a bad case of swimmers ear b/c you are a sailing instructor and you're near the water so much. but it could be another type of ear infection
from the sound of it you dont hav diabetes, i was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago and some of the big symptoms I had were extreme thirst and excessive urination, neither of those symptoms you seem to be suffering from, though being tired/dizzy can link to diabetes I think its safe to say you hav some inner ear issue
the most likely cause of this is usually low blood pressure. It can happen to fairly fit people, and is especially common amoungst younger women, and even some men. Ive had friends that had the same problem. Just go have a doctor look at it.
I would suggest doctor Gregory House, hes really good...
No. You'd know if it was an infection. Your body fights infections by swelling the area in attempt to kill the bacteria. Other defences are fever (increasing core body temperature so the bacteria can't survive), snot, all that good stuff.
PS did you know your balls hang outside your body because sperm reproduces at 36 degrees celcius instead of 38
That is why between the two possible answer as to what it is there is the word 'or'... Now you what this word means yeah?
i did not know if there was swelling or infection, or if he was in the early stages of getting an infection hence the two answers. i'll also think you'll find that one of my suggestions was correct...
me pops had something case of vertigo...he said the room started spinning and shit...it was prtetty series they called an ambulance and he spent the night in the hospital and was sent home in a few days with some meds...id def get it checked out soon...dizzyness and driving or sailing could be a bad combo
