Ok... So i need advice about what fat ski i want to buy for this next season... Im not sure whether to get the Volkl Gotama or the Moment M1... I ski mainly in Jay Peak, Mad River Glen and Stowe... However I plan on taking 2 trips out west this year and i also plan to go to Chile this summer (next year) and i wanted to have a fat ski for those trips as well as when we get some good snow up here in the east... Im 6 foot 2 and weigh 160... I am an advanced skier and like to ski lots of trees and go fast... Thanks

Very stiff... Ive heard the M1s are really stiff but i dont know ive never skied them ive just heard some sick stuff about them...

M1s fucking rip.  They're super stiff but I know a guy who uses them like everyday.  They will blast through anything.  If you want to take on any kind of steeps these would be your ski.  But like I said Iknow a guy who uses those over Rubies every day so yea..

and they LOVE to go fast.

Ok thanks... Im thinking i might go with the M1s... but 2 last questions... would i be able to take them on groomers and would they be okay for east coast ice at all? and secondly im 6'2 150lbs... im thinking the 182 would be the right size? I am still growing a little bit though and i should end up 6'3 or 6'4... so idk? Im wanting this as an everyday ski that can handle the trips west...

Ive seen them on moments website... but im not so sure about the idea of a rockered ski in the east coast where theres not much deep stuff..... ive dont know much about rockered skis to be honest since ive never skied on one... im sure if i tried a rockered ski and i liked the feel of it id consider it but i dont think it would be the best idea since i havnt tried..

Don't get the Garbones if you are going to be skiing east coast.  But yes I think they would hold up fine on east coast ice.  You could pm Moment or link80 on here for more info on that.  I've never seen them on ice.  I know the guy I know up here uses them on groomers no problem.

If you plan on skiing ANY powder at all, look into the 190 Ruby which has a flatter tail (like the M1) but a bit softer and wider. This would be a much better all-around ski than the M1. I have the M1 in 192cm and it takes quite some effort to remain afloat in anything over 6".

The M1 is very stiff. What size to recommend depends on how strong of a skier you are and how tight the trees are. I've found the 192 to be difficult to manage in considerably tight and steep sections and think the 182 version would be more suitable to you regardless of your height.

Not sure how they handle ice, but you'll find that they have no speed limit whatsoever on groomers.
