i love this game, and i wouldnt trade it for the world...
its insanely epic and theres all these different levels that are SMWEET

have you yet realised that 95% of video games are grossly unrealistic?

some people dont care that its not exactly like a human and not exactly the same actions a human could do, they just like it because its fun.

i love the unrealisticness of it. its so damn fun, and what has me going back to it is memories and the fact that it was 10 bucks at wal-mart.

we would not have skate if it wasnt for the success of the tony hawk series, i also believe that it brought a lot of money into the skate industry.  people who would never have gone out and bought a board played that game and it inspired them to start. dont hate dont hate

  Agreed.  THPS, and arguably THPS2, were landmark games.  They birthed countless imitators of every XXtreme variety.  I have much of the same respect for a game like Street Fighter II.  That being said, I wouldn't pick up either of those games for any reason other than a quick jolt of nostalgia of all night sessions fueled by pepsi and little caesar's pizza circa 1995 and 1992 respectively.
 
  Simply put, those games are great, but have been unquestionably surpassed by other games.  THPS and it's countless reiterations are relevant only in terms of what they have gone on to inspire...namely skate.
 
  In fact, THPS will almost assuredly take a page or two out of EA's playbook prior to developing the inevitable next game.

i'm with allen on this one tbh, i cant stand unrealistic games like that.  i think if you actually skate you wont like that game because of how ridiculous it is

i feel like no games would be fun if they were completely realistic. I loved the tony hawk games because you can make insanely huge gaps over halfpipes and do insane spics but if all you could do was like a 360 and get a foot out of the half pipe no one would play it. The point of video games is to do something you cant actually do in real life so they gotta be a little far fetched

this is bringing back the memories of hours playing and moon gravity , such a sick game
also skate 2 is amazing and im sure in a few years there will be a new skateboarding type game and this argument will happen again

Tony Hawk 4 was probably my favorite,   except its really fast to beat and i defiantely killed it by playing it too much in grade 11 and 12
