Yeah i've been learning to DJ for like less than a month and i just made my first mix. It's not perfect, some parts i admit i kinda fucked up on. Anyways just thought that i would share some music that i like listening to. Please leave me some constructive criticism. I dont really plan on being a real DJ, just something for fun that i do in my bedroom.

wow i just woke up today and realized how shitty the mix i posted was. anyways ill post a better version sometime today thats a lot more cleaned up

oh yeah go ahead. i kinda wanted to start a little game or make a cult where we play this game called ping pong. basically somebody starts off with a song, then somebody calls their turn, they mix another song in, then somebody calls their turn and then it just grows and grows.

heres a better version of my first mix. i dont know i cant seem to get it down perfect. its like impossible not to forget something when you're being recorded live for like 30 minutes. but im working on it.


and yeah i dont know if i dont know where i should start the ping pong thing. i can setup a cult or something but i need a lot of people willing to participate or else it'll die in like a week.

I only use a computer and a program called Traktor 3, begin with that since turntables, mixers, etc. cost a lot
I'll probably buy some gear in a few months

like i said traktor 3 with a midi controller is the best way to go. if you wanna go cheap and learn and still be able to pump out quality you should take a look at buying either a M-audio xponant, numark total control, or a behringer BCD3000 (what i use). i chose the bcd3000 because its got a built in soundcard so i can hook up headphones to cue tracks, microphone, and PA systems.

im eventually though gonna use ableton as i get better and better. its a lot less traditional but the possibilties are endless with it. you can create your own remix live on the spot.

truthfully, It sounded really good till it got to rich boy and the lip gloss song. after that it got good again

Some comments:

With rich boy use something softer I dont have any songs in mind but when you find one youll know it

With the lipgloss song use something heavy. Girl Talk used Metallica's One and The Hood Internet used a song by Marine Stern which i cant remember right now. It just rolls better with the song

Ok i cleaned up the mix and added 3 songs to make a better intro. its much better than the first one i posted. plus its got brand spankin new MSTRKRFT
