has anyone else noticed that the only trick in pipe that they land switch on is the last one where they do a 7 or 10 (im relating to comps)? so if everyone is doing a 7 as their last trick, would it really hurt someones run if they did a 9 instead? this brings me to the point that are twins even necessary in the pipe? you will gain more speed with a race ski which would enable you to boost even further out of the pipe. i know that candide and cr have their special 1080s but for something as an amatuer comp wouldn't it make more sense to be riding race skis? or even almost any company riders other than salomon?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that race skis and the such are weighted differently than twins, which gives them a very uneven feel in the air. I jumped with my friends disco sticks once and the felt very nose heavy, making them very hard to maneuver and spin in the air. Other than that, there is no other reason not to use a non-twin tip ski if your not landing switch...

race shits wont flex as well with the wall of the pipe, plus that guy above is right, different weight, and usually differ mount lines - fuck race skis, if you must, get a piar of twins and spray paint them gold or with a checkerboard, peace

yes there was a race base and the tips and tails were thinner so they had less swing weight and they had a wood core so they had more pop.

runs in the future will have a combination of regular and switch for sure...i can see 7's being thrown in the middle of a run, to a switch 3 or something.
what im getting at is that switch tricks will not be thrown at the very end, and runs wont be entirely switch either, it will be a combination of the two that will win comps in my eyes.

you guys should maybe check out x games qualifier superpipe or us open super pipe...I beleive somebody did switch tricks at the very first hit and also in the middle and continued on with other tricks...

a lot of people are doing switch tricks in the pipe...maybe you just don't notice it. For example, shawn sullivan in sm3 does a switch alley-oop 5, turpin sticks huge switch rodeos (and does complete pipe runs in switch also)and tanner in propaganda does a switch rodeo also, but it's a qp not a pipe.

another decent thread ruined.
