Cut in the head

alright so i built a jump in my backyard long story short i hit it on my mtn. bike overshot by a shit load. i have a big yard so it has a landing thats downhill.anyways i went really far because i bombed it, crashed and woulda been fine but my bike cam and hit me right in the head. i have a small cut, half of an inch about. it was bleeding but stopped very quickly. you cant see the cut its under my hair so no one will know.. im not telling my parents because they would kill me, the hate me hitting jumps on my bike etc. anyways its not bad enough to get stiches, not even close. it isnt bleeding anymore. but its a bit deep. its not that bad im overreacting but i jsut want to know what i could do to heal it up without stiches and as i said if it was on my arm i wouldnt even worry about it. but just curious



and when i say its deep i mean it isnt like a scratch, not like a gash

Put Hydrogen Peroxide on your cut to sanitize it. And it makes a cool sound! FFFZZZZZZZZ!!!

ok i poured some stuff it found its like a spray for cuts and it burned a bit. then i put neosporin. do i really have to superglue it?? im not supergluing my hair together haha

No, he was just joking, it think. If he wasnt, still dont do it. Superglue is a type of poinson, Poison inside your skin is bad.

doctors use superglue all the time instead of using stitches. i mean you don't have to do it, but i would.

yea before reading most of this i put two kinds of sprays, hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. it didnt burn that bad actually. + karma to all for the help

yeah that's what i was thinking of, hydrogen peroxide. and you don't have to use superglue really, i forgot it's on your head haha. i'd be pissed if it got in my hair. but if it starts bleeding again or doesn't close up...use it.

do the peroxide shit then swab it out and hold it together with those plastic steristrip things...it should pull the cut together and keep it that way until it begins to heal...make sure your hair doesnt get crusted to the cut or it will hurt like a bitch pulling it out

yea i swabbed it with a cotton ball and the peroxide. but where can i get those strips i have no clue what they are, but  probably had them.. god i dont know what i would do without ns haha

hydrogen peroxide might bleach your hair. iodine or rubbing alcohol would sanitize it as well. and i have superglued plenty of deep cuts before and it works great. if you were feeling a little mountain man-ish i would recommend ants. pick up a big enough ant and make it bite the two sides of the wound, then pinch its head off and its mouth will stay clamped shut leaving you with some ant stitches.

okay but superglue works great. i'm not saying pour a bottle of it into your cut. you just put it on the outside and it holds it together. i've used it for some REALLY deep cuts that definitely required a good bit of stitches. works amazingly.

I dont advise putting superglue anywhere near your skin, superglue is a type of poison, dont do it.

Dude fucking chill.  Superglue will not harm you if you put it on your cut.  If you eat it then yes, it is harmful, but otherwise its fine.

...... too bad i ran out of superglue..  i somehow got a really small bandade on it since the medical strips dont work. the cut doesnt bleed like crazy but its stil easily open so i deff. need to superglue it.

ah shit dont use the glue. a doctor used it on me once for a cut instead of stitches cause it was near my eye, got it on his glove, which then stuck to my eyebrow...shit huuuurt

but serously man that would suck, especially if your parents were up tight about that stuff, my opinion would be to take some Peroxide with a swab and lightly go over it, just to clear it up.

good luck with the recovery though and i wouldn't personally condone the super glue idea, but each to his own

do you plan you use normal household super glue....cause med glue is special and without certain chemicals they might be absorbed....even if it safe....the fact that you would have to avoid getting it in your hair is practically impossible (realistically)

well you know how liquid can be absorbed in through the skin correct, so if your putting super glue with potentially harmful chemical( not medical glue) on a cut would not be the wisest thing...also it would be tricky to do without getting in your hair...especially it being on top of you head which would make it harder to co-ordinate

yeah superglue totally works, stopped my bleeding wen i cut my fingertip off... but if the bleeding already stopped and such, just try and use a small bandage to keep it covered... or keep applying antibacterial shit so it doesnt get infected

the bleeding has stopped unless i mess with it but i have to be trying to. the cut closed up a very good bit in the night, but it is stil is open. im  gonna put neosporin on for now because i think its too late to put on glue. i will just let it heal. and yea, it would be VERY hard to avoid my hair, but i would do it with two people.

oh and ive tried using tape, bandade  and bandages but they wont stay on b/c of my hair. any suggestions?

were you not wearing a helmet when you did this? where on your head is the cut?

i would not recommend superglue, or pouring rubbing alcohol in, those are both pretty bad ideas. If you can, just let it heal by itself, otherwise go in and get stitches. I dont know what country youre from, but here we have whats called patient confidentiality...
