main point.......why was he resisting arrest?
sure the cop got a bit carried away but atleast he hit him on the legs like they're trained to do....after all, he only had to put his hands behind his back
anyone else agree with me?

No, because you're wrong. He didn't look like he was resisting arrest to me. Even if he was, maybe the cop was right to twist his arm, but what the fuck was with the black cop? You think it makes it okay that he only hit him on the legs? did you see the fucking welts? That was a 6+ foot black dude, i don't think they cry often.

trauma.
a person will act crazy after a trauma, its the brain misfiring because of the injury. since he didnt remember and was injured and had fallen that far, it seems to me like yes, he truly didnt know what he was doing and was really only a threat to himself (trying to run into traffic). to the cops he seemed drunk/high/threatening, but if the cops had looked at him for two seconds they would have realized the kid needed help. you know how easy it would have been to accomplish what the cops wanted (after they had discerned that he was injured)? they wanted to restrain him, ok so call EMS, c-coller, backboard, bam he is restrained. thats not even taking account what kind of sedatives or paralytics the medics could have given.
and try to put your hands behind your back with a broken back. not easy.
i think what happened probably is that the cops just thought he was chillin under the bridge smoking meth and took his odd behavior and lack of mobility as him being high or whatever, thus they tased him when he didnt comply. its a good thing that his spinal fracture was not so unstable so that this whole process didnt make him paralyzed.

If you're talking about the second video, no, I don't agree with you. Resisting arrest may be one thing, but to brutally hit someone over and over again (in the shins no less), is a bit harsh. Especially for that situation seeing as it wasn't escalating. There ARE cops who have power trips, and that clearly was a case of "one too many times".

if that was a white cop hitting the guy in the legs in the second video al sharpton would be on the in a minute saying it was a racist act

clearly the black guy was resisting arrest. he could of put his hands behind his back and it would of been over.

umm exactly that happens all the time. in fact a few months ago there was footage of a cop chasing a black man through a playground with his car and ramming him repeatedly and calling him nigger. al sharpton didn't make a peep.
statements like that make you sound racist and ignorant.

so kick his ass to make him submit is the answer?
Let try an analogy, say you have something that belong to your parent and refuse to give it up. Does that give the right to your parent to beat you up to get it back?

even if he was resisting arrest, the cop didn't need to use anywhere near that amount of force to get him to submit. he didn't even tell him to stop resisting or he'd get hit, he just hit him. those batons are straight up metal. Imagine a metal baton hitting you that many times in the shins (where there's no "meat" to absorb it, just bone). Deserved? I think not.
Luckily the cops in both videos got either suspended or stripped of their badges.

I wish I got video evidence of the cops tazing my friend a few weeks ago. He still has no feeling in his left arm and it was completely undeserved.

at least that cop was black, not like it was racist or anything, still really screwed up

actually it still can be racism. a high paid, well treated black man in NYC might see a black man on the streets as lesser than him and feels the need to hurt him and put him down. its unfortuantly true.

if this was 16th century Europe, but this is 21st century. The policy is exercise equal force that the opposition uses against you. I didnt see him swinging at a cop.

Yes I don't see the problem, don't wanna put your hand behind your back after them wrestling for a bit your gonna get hit. In this instance the cop did get carried away a bit though I do agree 3 or 4 woulda been enough. At least no one can play the race card on this one.

What was the guy in the second video doing to get him self in that situation? I highly doubt the police ran up on him and started cracking him, nonetheless their force for whatever he did was a bit excessive
