ok so how many vegetarians are on NS im not one but just wanted to see because there are a few at my school. its weird because they are all girls at my school. I guess all the guys like their meat
if god didnt mean for man to eat animals he wouldnt have made them out of meat. but for real in nutrition class last year we learned that if you follow a vegetarian diet correctly and healthy and live a healthy life style with normal exercise you generally live a longer life.
But yeah I know probably at least ten vegetarian girls. Oh and one guy in my class is i think. I remember one time at a Greenpeace meeting the teacher in charge told all of us to try to go vegetarian or at least limit ourselves to 3 meat meals a week.. haven't been to another Greenpeace meeting since.
oh i forgot my favorite vegetarian stories. when my old ski coach was in college they used to get his buddy's vegetarian girlfriend drunk and feed her hot dogs all the time.
my little sister is vegetarian/borderline vegan which in turn causes me to eat a lot of the same stuff since we live together. i eat meat probably 2 or 3 times a week, but i don't crave it now that it has become routine in my household/thats whats in the cupboard
Disclaimer: there is a lot of hate in the following post. It is not directed at real vegetarians, just the lazy fat highscool girls, some guys though not a lot.
Vegetarians(see above for who i am talking about) Quit being so fucking ridiculous. You are not making a difference by eating Crackers, Mashed Potatoes, Bread and Cheese all day. You are not a vegetarian, you are just a fatass who thinks they are going to get skinny by not eating meat. Its not a fucking diet, its a way of life/belief. I dont care how much fucking cat food you donate to an animal shelter, you are a dumbass and you are not making a difference. Quit bragging about how you dont eat meat, when all you do is Sit on your fatass all day watching Animal Planet stuffing carbs down your throat, crying for homeless dogs. At this point im not really sure where i am going withthis rant but all i can say is if you want to be a vegetarian, fine i think that if you do it right it can be good for you and i respect your reasons why you choose to be one, but dont pretend to be one just so you can bitch at everyone who isnt.
Ok that wasreally dick-ish but i know a lot of people like that in my school and it pisses me off. Again no hate to the vegetarians of NS because i doubt you fall into the crowd i ranted about above.
I'm not a vegetarian but I know a lot of vegetarians and vegans. I've eaten at a lot of vegan and vegetarian restaurants and it's pretty damn tasty actually. I don't think I could ever be one though, as my friend put it:
"Maybe if cows didn't want us to eat them they wouldn't be made out of 100% steak."
i have a couple of vegetarian friends. i have alot of respect for them but id never give up meat. maybe balony or some other nasty meat i guess. is it possible to be like a part-time vegetarian?
no you dont. you dont get all the nutrients and vitamins from a vegetarian diet. maybe if you took supplements, fine. i dont know whats the deal with people thinking that red meat is bad for you. its not, your ancestors have been eating red meat for thousands of years, we've been made for it.
im sorry but if you havent looked into it.... dont say anything about it. you CAN get everything you need from a vegetarian diet. it reduces risk of heart disease and other health problems, too.
dood...
its been proven that red meat isn't exactly the best thing for your heart.
and it you're a smart vegetarian that eats healthy (meaning- not a 'vegetarian' that lives off of doritoes and
snickers bars) you can get all the nutrients and vitamins that you need.
sure, sometimes you take supplements, but who cares?
I only eat meat that I kill (venison, duck, rabbit, grouse, squirrel, goose). I don't know what that's called... I don't have any problem with vegetarians/vegans. My theory is that we didn't rise to the top of the food chain to eat a carrot.
I'm a vegetarian. My dad buys meet at Cosco and I didn't want to eat it anymore cause I don't know anything about where it came from or how it was raised. Then I stopped eating meet altogether, no seafood too. I like to fish though.
I just hate militant vegeterians, like "how can you eat meet its soo horrible" etc, but i really respect actual vegeterians for their commitment for that kind of thing. Vegans im not so sure about. But near here theres like a really sick vegeterian restaurant that has the best nachos ever with like mangos and shit so.... respect to them.
i had an exchange student who was a vegitarian and my fam taunted him with meat
the funny thing is he became a veg in a bet who could last longer with out meat that he made with a friend, well my fam broke him and he was eating meat by the time he left
You got another one here. I HATE the argument about "a healthy diet". It's so stupid, all my blood tests come back perfect, except liver, but that's separate reasons. I think it's healthier, people need to eat less meat to be able to argue health.
Some totally legit vegetarians won't even take supplements for things they can't get from plants because they're not sure where the vitamins or minerals in those supplements come from
i have been a "vege" my entire life.....not because i have any religious or moral thing against eating meat i just dont get served it....i was never given it as a child....and i am one of the most athletic people i know, except for my brother who is also vergitarian. My mom is a vegetarian but my dad isn't, and growing up i was never severd me thus i have no craving or anythign for it...im perfectly comfortable with others eating it but i survive just fine with out it. And thinking about it i have probably saved me many thousands of bad calories at Mc D's which i have never eaten from...as the same from BK and taco bell....so one can and does as many do live just the same and lead healthier (debatable) lives beside our meat eating friends in peace
i am just going to put it this way....if we were not ment to eat meat.....then our bodies would not have the processes to digest the stuff. Simple as that.
Im not gonna hate on it, unless someone makes me feel bad for eating a steak and trys to preach to me the ways of always eating tofu, and salad.
Fuck that shit. I always have that problem with fuckin vegans. My girlfriends roomies are vegans, and they always do that.
All i have to say is that some people who are just feel bad about the animals. You only have that mentality when you live in the city, and the only real nature you ever see is the kind passing by you on the highway. I live in northern ontario, and when you see nature in action.....when you believe otherwise.
Lets just say your walking in the woods, its the end of fall and you find a black bear in the woods. The bear has not had enough food to feed him self in the winter because of the large amount of bear population ( that was caused by some retarded mother fucker, who has never been in the woods, or understands the concept of a sustainable ecosystem, cancelling the spring bear hunt).
Now do you think this bear is going to consider that your a living person, that you have feelings, and a family, and that you respect him? Bullshit.
That bear is going to see that your a big hunk of meat that will keep him/his cubs alive all winter. He is going to fucking slash your head off, and eat you. He woun't even think twice about this.
Do what you want, but i personally don't believe in it at all.
no i did, but it is what i believe, plus just venting beacause of my gf's stupid friends. They just drive me nuts, and well i just saw a reson to post on NS. Honestly I respect vegetarians, and vegans, but just don't shove it in my face.
