I maybe be getting a DVX100p for $1100.  It only has 50 hours on the heads so I think it's a good buy.

There is no "DVX100p" its either a or b.  And post the link, because either you're getting hooked up good, or its a scam to the max.  You couldn't buy a VX2100 with 50 hrs and in good condition for that much...

Shit, you're right.  Dammit.  Oh well.  I'm not sure how it compares to the a and the b, but if its on the same level, it still could be a scam.

Yeah.  I called the seller.  He checked out the whole camera yesterday and said the viewfinder has a greenish look to it.  The LCD is fine and the footage looks normal.  There is a small crack in the tripod mount, but it still works.  I knew there had to be a catch.  I'm probably going to not buy this.  I'm still waiting on pictures though.  Hmmmm.

I most likely will be selling mine but definitely not now. I am going to wait until I can afford an HVX.

No.

The origional DVX is:  AG-DVX100p

Second DVX is:  AG-DVX100Ap

Third DVX is:  AG-DVX100Bp

The p is just part of the model number.

Anyways I found a camera I'm going to buy.  It's a DVX100A.

Ya, dvx100a and B are pretty much the same as far as footage quality. The upgrades on the DVX100b are mostly just added conveniences for usage. such as the 16:9 lcd screen. The chips are still 4:3 but you can view squeeze mode in proper framing.

dvx100b has updated CCDs = better color processing, although I can't really tell the difference.

And the 100b has more color controls.

Basically get the 100b. The ONLY advantage I know of in the 100A is that it has interval recording.
