The 82 width boones would be the most similar to invaders.. but with that said, they ski completely different.
After trying out at least 2 different years of invaders (frankly, they feel exactly the same..) and comparing them to the way boones ride.. the invaders are noodles, whereas the boones are a little more solid in aspects of an actual SKI.
The invaders are great if all you're looking for is a buttery, ridiculously soft, noodle that you can thrash around in the park.
If you're looking for something with a little more versitility when it comes to places outside of the park, the bamboo core'd boones would do the trick..
They have more edgehold, they wont wash out as easily, they are no heavier, if not lighter than the vaders. They are certainly more solid on jumps, and in the halfpipe, seeing as they dont just melt under the pressure when you try to pop them off something. They may be stiffer, but I weigh about 130lbs, soaking wet.. (yes, i'm a skinny bastard) and i'd be able to butter them without a problem at all.
the 82's kill it, not only in the park, but all over the place (at least on the east coast)
oh, and if you're not afraid of some extra girth to your ski, check out the Boone 93's as well. they come in 180 and 170, and are still very sufficient for park riding.
any more questions.. just ask, brotha.
