Around what resolution should I make my photoshop art if I want to get it blown up to, say, around 3 x 7 ft on canvas?

photoshop said i can put it up to 30,000 dpi so i did just to screw around and it froze up on mde

ummm yah i think i had a 2000 dpi image...no alteration and it was 140mb-ish so i can imagine a 30 000 dpi killing your computer

300 is usually fine but if your computer can handle it theres no reason to go higher...

just design to the final trim size of the art at 300dpi, or if your looking to go for press quality, bump it up to 600dpi.

well yeah, the idea is that I take my art to kinkos and have them print it onto a foam board then I hang it up. They said it would be roughly $60 for a somewhat large one.
