Breakout Skier of 08/09??

I'm thinking TJ and Twall and hopefully sammy has a good comp year this winter

yeah i know, but he had a disappointing contest season last season and i hope he kills it this one cause last year he worked so hard (from what i hear)

same with TJ and I guess TWall, I guess im thinking more in terms of the big comps, like not superunknown guys but guys who should win an x games/us open medal next year

I don't consider them to be a "break out" skier when you're one of the highest paid skiers in the sport (Sammy) and you've already one US Open and established yourself as one of the best (TJ).  But the d-bag Wallisch and then Cosco... and Henrik Harlaut will continue to dominate.

wouldn't "breakout" skier be someone who isnt a big name already? sammy, tj are huge names been in movies for years, not really a breakout skier. I would call a breakout skier someone who is just getting into the big movies and getting noticed.

For instance this years breakout skier could be jon brogan, won sunperunknown and is in turbo now.

I think TJ had his breakout 2 years ago when he landed a switch 1440. And Sammy is bigger than ever. Everyone know who he is. I wanna see Dane Tudor breakout cause he's insane at big mtn.

most likely it will be some other european that will come and make a big splash in the North American comp scene, like what has happened over the past few years more and more (or so it seems).

for the 2nd time, they can already be "good" to have a breakout year sammy really hasn't done all that well in comps, and TJ hasn't really followed up is switch 1440, so i guess i should have called this thread the "whos gonna kill it in comps next year" my bad for poor wording

Well in that case. Tanner Hall is gonna win the x-games and the dew tour. Sammy and TJ will do well. Jacob Wester, probably some more Simon Dumont. Jossi Wells is gettin pretty good at pipe. Colby West will keep gettin better. There's more but I'm done.

kevin rolland, kalle leinonen and aj kempainen are gonna go nuts in pipe this year. kevin especially kevin if he stays free of injury.

dana flahr looks like he's gonna go from up-and-coming big mtn contender to genuine rock star.

I'm talking non-competition. I guess you'd have to make a whole nother list for breakout competition skiers but alas, we all [should] know Wallisch is going to fucking murder the comps the year. Henrik is also going to be a forced to be reckoned with.
