i have been a vol./call firefighter for 3 years now and im going to school to get my degree in fire science so i can do it full time. i was just curious if anyone else is, or wants to get into the fire service. sorry if i wasted your time to read this.
Good cause for sure. I am going to get my EMT when I turn 18 in august. Then I am joining one of the search and rescue teams up here. Its in the same area kinda haha.
My friend is an ex-firefighter. When we were waiting for the sun to hit the landing of a BC jump we made, we killed the time by starting a bonfire in the middle of nowhere.
I am seriously considering it a few years after I graduate. I just need to know what I have to do
I plan on river guiding in the summer and doing something at a resort in the winter for a few years, but when it is time to grow up I think firefighting would still be fun
I went though a scout program and was involved in my local department for 3 years in highschool. Im certified to do pretty much everything except go inside of a building because i had to stop training to go to college. I lost intrest after i got to school and havn't really been involved in about a year now.
Grandpa was a fireman, dad is dispatcher for local ambulance, uncle is volunteer fireman for 30+ years, cousins have been volunteer fireman since sophmores in highschool. I would like to do it but I'm leaving for college and never was interested before.
my mate is flying firefighting helicopters in Canada at the mo. If its hard to get jobs as a firefighter maybe getting a heli license would be another way to go? I'm pretty sure he basically walked into his job.
