Replying to For all you ski instructors
So, I thought about making this thread later, in february, but its summer and frankly, I'm bored as shit.
My school annually goes to Whistler for 2 nights 3 days, and during that trip, we have to take lessons because some gaper kid in richmond a few years ago fucked it up for us and paralyzed himself trying to backflip.
Anyways, my "school" of 250 students is part of a much bigger 2000+ student highschool, and it is a "gifted education" program. No, I'm not retarted thank you very much, its pretty much a normal school where everyone expects you to do a little better, in exchange for numerous annual trips a year, and a bunch of cool shit.
However, honestly speaking, its 1/2 nerds and 1/2 cool smart people. And out of that 1/2 cool people, 60% are gapers, 30% consider themselves "advanced skiers" because they have houses and whatnot in whistler/big white etc. and go with their parents a lot.
The rest might be able to do some park and ski decently if given an extra push. So, here comes the question to all you ski instructors: Would it help if I made a thread on NS telling you when we're coming and gathering up a group that can actually do shit so you don't get stuck with a shitload of gapers and have to stick to groomers all 3 days? Its a win win situation, I get to ski some good stuff and actually learn something from a fellow NSer, you get non-gaper kids to work with?
Even if you arn't a whistler instructor, would it help if someone did something like this for you?
sorry this got a tad long but...GO
