Replying to Red HD format

Hey you can call me a dumbass or searchbar but whatever I tried, I was wondering what the format of the Red HD cameras was, as in does it go to a hard drive, film, some other kind of mini dv, whatever. I was just wondering this because i was thinking, once they got cheaper would they become the stock prosumer grade camera, or if it was film that had to be developed, so it wouldnt. anyways, im not gonna read through that before posting because i doubt it makes sense. any help would be nice. thanks.
