Fully legalizing legalizing weed is pretty much handing it over to the tobacco and pharmaceutical companies. To be filled with chemicals and sold at huge profit margins. The only way this will actually benefit general hippy kind is if you would be allowed to grow it yourself. Im sure the big tobacco companies pump way too much money at congress to ever let that happen.

Both are VERY strictly regulated as far as resale goes. Do you really think tobacco companies are going to stand by a billion dollar industry while people grow dope themselves. If it ever was legalized they would have congress bought out in a snap, and there would be laws in place right away about who could grow it, for what purpose etc. They would find a way to make their money, while filling their product full of chemicals making it super addictive.

Please dont be ignorant enough to think that legalizing weed would be anything but a cash grab for the governement and big business in the states.

exactly. it might ruin weed itself. they can make weed more addictive and sell it at such high prices. plus theres gonna be a restricted age on it (probably 19 or 21), and theres gonna be no dealers. if your underage its gonna be harder to get weed. i dont know about you, but its easier for me to get weed than alcohol. your dealer doesnt ask for ID.

im sure it would just turn into what cigs are today....there will always be haters and watnot but im sure thell make it more addictive and sell like joints and blunts in stores and peopel will prob grow it on there own still or watever they do like people who roll there own cigs (im not really sure i dont smoke cigs)

If they did legalize it the entire marijuana business would be amazing. think of all these people who would be willing to pay a lot to smoke it. Right now in Amsterdam its $9.25 for a gram thats pre-rolled into a spliff. I bet we will have tons of companies like cigarette companies who will actually sell you a pack of spliffs for a costly price and they will make tons of money because we'd be willing to pay it. if it were to be legalized you still need to think of entrepreneurs and how many small buisness will be formed as a branch of its legalization.  people will probably have the decision to buy the addictive weed, or go to there local grower.  why would anyone that smokes weed not grow? it doesn't make sense to me why a person would not grow the plant from the herb and harvest the natural plant since its legal, we should and will always have the freedom to choose.

Because the government will regulate it to the point that people like that will not be able to afford the licenses/taxes etc. to be able to operate that way. It would be awesome if if would end up just that simple, I just dont see it going that way.

There are other implications also that would be benefitial to the public. For example, at my job I get random UA's, its a construction job its a safety thing- allegedly anyway. As a marijuana smoker I have to basically act like a crackhead one day a year and give fraudulent urine samples in order to keep my job. All the while, Joe Co-Worker next to me is openly allowed to be a raging drunk that can barely function every morning he's so hungover (Its construction this is commonplace). You tell me who is a greater risk to L&I? Obviously the alcoholic, I wake up in the morning feeling fine, even after a night of heavy smoking. I can say that hands down I am a better employee than the equivalent users of alcohol and tobacco. My coordination is not impaired, I leave the cigarette smokers in the dust because my lung function is something close to what it should be, I am on point, on time, and ready to work every day. It is very frustrating to experience the hypocrisy of this policy first hand.

What I learned, that is completely fucked, is that cocaine or methamphetamine leaves your system in just hours, maybe a day. Without Marijuana, drug testing companies would all go broke since it accounts for about 95-97% of all tests that come back positive. You could be a chill marijuana smoker and not get the job from failing a drug test over someone that just smoked meth a couple of days ago who passed it.

The best was last night, I was smoking a blunt with my homie walking down the parking lot to see pineapple express. We finish smoking and I put it out and as we approach the stairs this fat motherfucking rent-a-cop blocks my path. Big fat nerdy looking guy who all stoked on his little securtiy guard badge. Went something like this.

rent-a-cop: stop! I can smell marijuana on you! thats a federal offense! I could arrest you right now for possession!
me: really? I don't think I have any left on me, I must have smoked it all. good luck getting me on possession.
rent-a-cop: besides possession you were loitering in the parking lot!
me: fuck you, I'm walking to go see my movie.
rent-a-cop: i'm in the right mind to detain you right now. i can smell marijuana all over you.
me: if you try i'll have you in court for a real crime, assault and battery. besides, you're not a real cop and even if a real cop were to come there would still be nothing a real cop could do.
rent-a-cop (looking all smug and shit): on really, how so? do you see this badge? do you see that sign? (proceeds to read a sign on the wall about illegal misdemeanor loitering for the next minute)
me: right, i could care less, even though i wasn't loitering. and... (i pull out my medicinal cannabis card) how about you look closely at this and step the fuck out of my way.
fucker glares at the card in my hand and then give me the dirtiest looks ever and just moves out of my way.
