so its now deep into the summer and i did not go to any ski camp and wished that i went to hood, which i didn't, but my family does have a boat that i like to ski, wakeboard and wakeskate on. my mind was drifting to skiing and thought that i could probably make twin tip water skis. i looked online, there are some made by hyperlite http://www.waterskis.com/2008-HO-WakeSkis-p/2008_ho_wakeskis%20(pair).htm but considering they're $400 i decided i'd make my own. i was thinking about making it like a marine-grade plywood, just it seems kinda heavy and i was wondering about any lighter material. i was wondering if anybody had any advice of what kind of material i should make it.
No idea where you live, but in Canada the store "canadian tire" (basically a target/walmart/home depot/sports store) sells them for aboot $150. Made by body glove i tink.
no way. sorry i dont know cuz i think youd need fat, rockered, short kids skis. not sure if anyone makes a pair of those. ur probably gonna need to buy a real water ski
word of advice: don't even try it. You probably won't make something that is worth the time you put into the project. You're right, the HO's are the best on the market but if you're on a budget, just buy the Body Glove's for $150. should be able to get them somewhere around you. If you can't find any, email us and we'll sell you a pair.
