Out of bounds

my friend who has been skiing for 11 years wants me to go out of bounds with him and go off cliffs and do shoots etc. and im not sure if i should do it or not cause i have been skiing for 3. ++++ karma for good replies

umm. i would say do whatever ur comforatable with really... but i say you go with him for the experience, power is sick. and if hes doing big cliffs, dont do it unless u wanna, and you will probly find some smaller drops to start on.

i say you only do what you feel comfortable doing for your skill level. ask your friend if you could possibly do something easier before hitting larger sides of the mountain, just remember you never have to do it if you dont want to. [:

definitely. even if you dont hit the big stuff or ski the steep stuff, youll still be out of bounds.
and your friend would be just as stupid to bring you with him if you dont know anything about avy/life saving.

years skiing is less important than avalanch training/gear. if you have no knowledge of avalanches, and no avy gear then i sugest no. rememeber you can be fined heavily if the patrol has to come into the backcountry to rescue you.

anybody can ride in the park.
it takes a true skier to ski in the backcountry.
to me the BC is true freeride skiing and freestyle, go where skiings roots started shreddin natural objects.

It's widely known in the skiing community you can't go out of bounds until you learn how to spell chutes correctly.

Remember, its not how much training you have, its how much training the guy has who's searching for and digging you out... two way street really, but it is important to consider wise partner selection with regards to backcountry travel.  Although your training and gear are important, the wisest and best-equipped guys can do nothing when they are under 2m of snow.  Select your partner carefully.

Go take an avy class, get a beacon, shovel and probe and pay attention to the snow pack!

first, make sure he knows his way around the are and is knowledgable about snow conditions and avy danger if you're not. then make sure there is a way around the cliffs in case you don't want to hit them.

if everything seems cool though, i'd do it
goin out of bounds can be a really good experience
