Haha you are so far off on that statement.
I went skiing when I was like 5 with my family and had a decent time. then i didn't do anything on the snow until I was like 12-13 when some of my friends started snowboarding. i joined in with them because who doesn't know this, snowboarding is eXtreme!!1!!!!!111!1!one!!1!1!. but then once high school rolled around my sister had joined the ski team and i followed in her footsteps. I hated skiing at first but just did it as a way to get out at the hill on weeknights and stuff. but throughout that first year skiing grew onto me and i enjoyed hitting jumps on my skis rather than my board. At that point i decided i didn't want to snowboard anymore. I also didn't know that you could hit rails on skis or anything about newschool skiing when i decided to start skiing.
So with your comment you are saying im not a "true skier" because i didn't fall in love with it on day #1. You're wrong. I hardly jumped on the "bandwagon".
