So I had a bad crash at Mt Hutt here in NZ about a week ago, overspun a back and cleared out the landing. I managed to dislocate and fracture my hip, as well as bruise and put a small tear in one of my lungs. I've been told I'm looking at 6 weeks of non-weight bearing on crutches, then another 6 weeks of partial weight bearing, followed by around 3 months of recovery. I was just wondering If anyone has had any experience with this sort of injury, or knows anyone who has?

A friend's sister overshot one of the old superpark jumps at Lake Louise while doing a backflip and broke and dislocated both of her hips. I think it took her like 2 years to get back on snow and she has gnarly scars down her sides.

haha. dislocated hips aren't too common in those situations i don't think, most of the doctors and nurses that saw me were like, wtf? howd you manage that?
