Ipod help

my ipod (2nd gen nano) just froze. the backlight wont go off, i cant scroll, none of the buttons do anything, when i put it in the lock position the lock emblem thingy doesnt show up, i have also tried restarting it.

how it happened: i was scroling thrugh my artists and came to what i wanted and clicked the play/pause button, i then i clicked it again to pause right after b/c i wanted to plug it into my ihome and not miss any of the song (everyone does this right?) and then everything went still, and i cant do anyghing

please NS, help me. i will prolly go the the apple store later (if none can help) today because i have a car ride for grams b-day tomarrow

if it will connect to your computer try restoring it

i opened itunes and then pluged in my ipod and nothing is showing up on itunes showning me that its regestering my ipod

trouble shooting possibilities
-restoring it
-plug into charger
-hold buttons down to restart

if i think of anything else ill post it

differnt combinations of buttons..ex centre and top of circle together

is it just frozen like the same things is on the screen?

yea ill try that after this post and, yes everything on the screne has not changed i cant move the selection bar or anything

Put hold on then off, then click the center and menu buttons for about 6 seconds...it should go away.  If not, try waiting a few hours until the battery dies then plugging it into your computer.  If that doesnt work, make sure you have all your music backed up on your harddrive, then restore it to factory defaults.

hold the menu and center button together for 10 seconds. The entire iPod will restart ( songs/videos/photos will NOT be lost in process)
this should work :)

this happened to my ipod, what i did was toggle the hold switch on and off, then hold the menu and center button both down for like 10 seconds until the apple sign comes up

ahhahhahahah WOOOOT igot it to work i tryed holding down the center and menu buttons again and it finally restarted. (and i did try this before, and idk why it didnt work)
