BURNING SPEAR
one of the most underated reggae groups ever. its soo........primal.
burning spear is the shit. some of my favorite songs of theirs are lion, christopher columbus, down by the river, house of reggae, calling rastafari. great stuff.
steel pulse has some classics.
los pericos is a cool argentine reggae group. not that many people seem to know of them, but they are great.
to the person wondering if stoopid is reggae- well, not really, but they have reggae tendencies. kind of like some sublime. reggae-ish.
to the dude wondering if "ska counts." i mean, truthfully, the stuff you listed, newer punk-ish ska, is pretty far from reggae. but did you know ska actually was created before reggae? justin hinds and the dominos are a good example. also desmond dekker, laurel aitken, prince buster.
bunny wailer and peter tosh, the other 2 original members of the wailers, have some good songs.
ub40 is good for a chuckle
for instrumental reggae, IMO you cant beat jackie mittoo.
it amazes me how much reggae is out there just waitng to be discovered.
There's alot of good artists out there, but Ziggi, Jah Mason, Lyricson, Cali P, Tribal Seeds, Richie Spice,Junior Kelly,Dub Inc,Jah Cure
Damian Marley, Collie Buddz, Cali P, Rebulation, Stephen Marely, Ky-mani Marley, Matisyahu, Turbulence, and Bob Marley
They label it psychedelic which is just raggae on shrooms
