That band has had a total of 22 or so members. One of the last members (Hughie Thomasson) died last year of a heart attack. Gary looks like he's going to keel over and die any day now. Free Bird, yo.

Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines died along with a road manager, the pilot and the co-pilot. The plane ran out of fuel. The rest of the people in the plane were either injured or seriously injured. Gary Rossington's arms and legs were all broke. Such a stupid mistake that happened.
