Replying to The Grail Quest Series, by Bernard Cornwell

I've been reading a shit ton of books lately, but I just finished a trilogy that absolutely entranced me.  The Grail Quest series is a trilogy consisting of "The Archer's Tale," "Vagabond," and "Heretic."  Set in 14th century Europe, the series is about a young man named Thomas who comes from a little town on the sea named Hookton.  When raiders come and destroy his town and kill his father, he takes his skills with the English longbow and joins the army as an archer.  The English were at war with France, and his mission was to find and kill the man who killed his father.  In doing so, he finds himself searching for the most prized relic in all of medieval Christendom: The Holy Grail. 

That must seem like I took that off a book cover, huh?  Well I didn't, and I'm damn proud of it.  These books were so great because, for one, almost everything is based around true history.  The whole fictional plot is twisted around events that really happened.  Reading these books was amazing because although incredibly pathetic in their war methods compared to nowadays, these people were unbelievably savage and desperate for plunder, and that made them interesting to read about.  I strongly suggest reading these, or at least the first one, because they seem to be exactly like a modern thriller, except set in medieval times.  I was skeptical when I started reading, but after the first hour into the first book I was hooked. 

Thought I'd give the readers of NS a little recommendation.  I was also surprised to find them in my library!  Who knows, maybe you're library will have them too (although most of you would rather die before going into a library, rofl rofl).
