Mac software?

i know you can buy it for a pc, and i think im going to, so i looked it up on apple.com, but im not really good with computers, so i was wondering if anybody could give me a link to where to buy the actual software, 

i mean like the entire operating system on my computer, except on a pc not a mac.

i dont think apple allows its superior operating system to be used on PCs. apple is really strict on what can run its programs (basically only mac hardware) so i dont think you can run OS X anytime soon.

there might be, however, other programs that apple makes that run on pc, but i have never looked into that.

there are versions of leopard out there that are modified by people not associated with apple that will run on a pc, in havent tried it, but im sure its pretty unstable.

Yeah it's definitely possible, but you have to be crazy with computers and even still like you said, it's very unstable.

It is called a [H]ackintosh to put mac os x on your pc. It is very diffiuclt, very very difficult and you have to be very very good with computers. In fact it is easier to put mac os x on your xbox ( crazy eh!)

I've done it on both of my computers. It really wasn't terribly hard... But i found guides for both of my computers. which made it alot easier.

Then search your computer model, hopefully they have a guide for it. and hopefully you have an intel processor.. it gives it a much better chance of working.

if you find a guide you will have to download a patched OS X dvd from ummm (Cough Cough Thepiratebay.com).... some are

Kaylaway... i think.


BUT BE CAREFULL you will probley have to wipe your hard drive, so BACK EVERY THING UP... And make sure you have all your windows drivers, and a recovery dvd or xp cd.

o and for what ive got working on my computrs.

Laptop Compaq C717Nr with Intel Processor
Mac Version On It iAtkos

Wireless - working
Sound - Sort of
CD-DVD Burner - working
Touch Pad - Working
Graphics - Working
Boot Loader - Not at all working, in order to boot you need to have the iAtkos DVD in the drive

Other Notes: the battery life went wayyyyyyy down hill, and it heated up really fast, so i was a bit scared to leave mac on there for fear of it burning up... So im back with windows xp.

Desktop Dell E521 with AMD Processor
Mac Version On It Leo4All

Sound - Working 100%
Graphics Card, nVidia 8500GT - Working 100% even dual monitors
CD-DVD Drive - Not at all, wont read dvds or cds.

Other than the DVD Drive it works really good, how ever i like LINUX more so mac really doesnt get much use. But i have a triple boot system with Mac OS X, Vista Ultimate, and Ubuntu Linux.

yup, its written into the user agreement or something, has to run on apple hardware.

if you really need to use a mac and want it to actually work properly then your only real option is to buy a mac.

if you want an operating system that just looks pretty check out mandriva linux. its got a few 3d effects etc + its free.

You know I was gonna bash this guy and tell him he's an idiot, but he has a point.  I mean the ONLY thing I like about Macs is the shiny, swooshy UI.  So if I could run their UI on my PC then it'd be cool way to have the things about a Mac I want, nothing I don't.

Only OSX rules out all my games... so that'd be a problem.

actually i just wanted the mac software because i know that there has been no virus created for a mac yet, and im getting pissed of all the retarded viruses out there, even the small ones like norton and stupid ads, or the ones that just say a random thing every once in a while on your computer.

If you're lucky enough to have the right PC it's as easy as burning a hacked OSX CD and popping it in, and it will run OSX perfectly. But if you have the wrong hardware it's really difficult.

its somewhat simple basic linux distro..

CAUTION: Back up EVERYTHING

It does help you along in dual booting, but find a guide or something to help you along...

and try to figure out how compatible your computer is before installing... ask on there forums - http://linuxmint.com/forum/
there really helpful there.

Myspace won't give you viruses unless you go into fake/hacked up profiles and download stuff.  I dunno what tea games is, but quit downloading stupid shit.

I have what you'd call "a lot" of "illegitimate" stuff on my computer.  But I know the difference between the new Beck album and "2 girls make out zomg must see video".  Not a single virus in 2 years.  Get antivirus.  It's fucking like $10 or free at Frys.

nice, i have yet to try ubuntu but ive heard its pretty legit. my mac was triple boot before osx/xp/fedora 7 but it was kinda pointless unless you do dev work in linux and it took up too much drive space so i deleted my fedora partition.  as for free antivirus, try avira as well - http://www.free-av.de/en/index.html

Its Ubuntu 8.04... Its amazing! really the only reason i would sudgest linux mint over it for n00bs, is cause its a bit more ready to use right once you get it insalled.. However Ubuntu is better overall IMHO. but it doesnt come looking like that.

but thats the magic of linux, is almost everything is customizable.

and about drivers like wireless and sound... most of the time its very easy to get working. for me i just had to install it on my laptop then download the updates, then everything worked perfect... for my desktop i just had to turn it on and download the program envy ng and click install nVidia Driver. and everything works perfect on both of them.
