I am in serious need of a ski trip.
I live between sac and tahoe.
Where would I go? I'm guessing hood, but I'm not sure how tickets work or if you need to go to a specific camp. How would the parks be? Good for progression?
How much would lodging and tickets be per person?

Hood is good and the park is sweet. If you can afford to do a camp they are worth it. If not then tickets are like 50 bills a day and the cheapest place to stay in govy (which is the best place to stay) is prolly thunder lodge which you can prolly find online.

Hood is really the only good option for ya. It is the closest, and the driving would be easy, just hop on like I-5 or 97 and spend a chunk of day getting there (~6+ hours??)
As for lodging, just camp at the airstrip near trillium lake. Its free, sweet, and relatively close to the mountain, plus close to the lake for swimming/cooling off needs.
Lift tickets are expensive, like $45+ a day. The public park is pretty good, but I can't speak for right now.
If you wanted to hike for turns, washington has more glaciers and shit, but thats involves a lot more effort, and no park.
Whistlers public park is not worth it at all.
