Should I get I Different Camcorder?

Alright, so I just got a Canon FS100 camcorder (SDHC recording) and
when I got some test footage and put on my computer, I coundn't import
it into any editing programs because the camcorder records to ".mov"
files. I realise there's video converting programs which convert
".mov" to ".avi" files, but using these sacrifice video quality. I
still have one or two more days to return my camera, so what would be
best to do?
PS: I posted this in Media & Arts already and didn't get any replies, so I figured I'd get more replies in NSG.

if you use the editing program Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro, it takes pretty much any format you can think of without sacrificing quality.
im sure premiere does as well

I haven't tried Vegas yet, but in Premiere it doesn't work.

I can change it, but it reduces video quality.

i find it very hard to believe that premier wont read a .mov file. especially because thats what it usually renders in.
