Joystick customer service...eh

So I e-mailed to see if I could get a couple of the standard on-piste baskets because I bought a couple pairs of poles that only had the powder basket. The response was that I could mail in a check and the baskets would be $5 a set and they would send them to me. First off, I was a bit disappointed to find out that they are still in the 90s and I couldn't pay with PayPal or a credit card, and secondly that it $5 for a couple pieces of cheap plastic that might cost a quarter to fifty cents to make. I suppose they should get a little slack since they are a smaller company that probably couldn't afford to give away free stuff, but all I am asking for it small plastic pieces for a part of their product that I already purchased. Am I wrong? Was this good service?

Baskets are surprisingly expensive. Go to a store and ask them for baskets and I think you'll be delightfully surprised by the price joystick's asking for. Either that or I got ripped off hard last time I bought baskets.

ok, the check thing is a bit wierd, i'd have thought they would have something better but i guess if they don't usually sell to the public it's cool.
seriously though, $5 and your complaining!? thats fuckin cheep as anything, get over it!

it's true $5 isn't much, but I think of it in terms of production cost and percent of the item cost. I already stated that I thought they were cheap to produce, but then if the pole cost $20, there is no way the baskets are 1/4 the cost? (is there?) perhaps :) I guess I am just used to some companies with great customer service that don't even blink to offer a new set for free.

theres one guy, dedicated to running the brand, and he's also a really good guy, besides that fact, pole baskets call more to produce when your ordering such small quantities, Joystick isn't in the same boat as scott ordering 50,000 pairs a year. that's driving the price up, the fact that he was offering you them for $5 dollars, shipped from canada i assume is a pretty good deal.

it cost me 15 to replace the baskets on my scot race poles so why are you complaining? 5$ is nothing

This is like saying
"why do i have to pay 1 dollar for a soda when it costs 25c to make?"
Think about it.

What don't companies just give away wider brakes for bindings instead of charging $50. You already bought the bindings right? You should get wider brakes for free. Just sayin

You won't find a set of baskets cheaper than $5 in any shop. Some places will charge you a few bucks to pop them on, too.
Joystick is great. I wouldn't complain.

The fact that they are selling you some is good enough, because you couldn't find them elsewhere.
