how do you call it the rich mans sport, its a form of racing that has sponsorship dollars and contracts. yes its a rich mans sport, for the people that own the race teams, they're making cash money off the sponsorship deals maaan. other than that they're just very very nice subarus and what not. definitely not F1 cars.
Yep. even entry level horses cost like $30,000, the upper level horses cost anywhere from 400,000 to 1,000,000, and they need like 10 horses, not to mention the stabling (3000/month), food, vet, and club fees (8000/year) etc
i actually really want to rally race when i'm old enough to do so. like once i get a stable job and all that jazz, it is so sick. it's not a rich mans sport, but it definitely costs money...
it depends on what kind of car it is. a Ferrari enzo is alot more expensive to upkeep than a honda civic. prices are ridiculous on import car repairs here. my dad owns a Maserati and if something happens even like a flat tire. we have to import one from italy because it does not come with a spare. it really depends what kind of car your dealing with.
Anyway. Does a Maserati manufacture their own tires or some shit? You can't just stick some pirellis on there? That seems.... well fucking stupid quite frankly.
haha yup tire imported from italy for $600 because if you put anything else on it the whole car will burst into flames. thats a quote from the dealer btw.
my uncles raced that in the america race in like 2001- they went to africa but the car broke down when they arrived foir the race the next year- so they followed it by planeinstead
thats the biggest bullshit i have ever heard- maserati use micelin pilot sports A as their normal tire- even if it is the highest wheel package they have it uses a Pirelli P Zero and those are only 367- so i think ur local maserati dealer is raping u in the ass
actually champ car and especially formula takes a shit ton more skill. rally driving is insane and takes a ton of balls, but you really cant even compare it to formula 1 in terms of how much skill it takes.
though with that said i dont like formula 1 as much as rally, or champ car. its soooo damn serious compared to other forms of racing.
holy shit how stupid are people on this website? dude im kidding! did
you even read my whole post or can you not concentrate that long on one
thing? yea man you ARE right, mazeratti's wont burst into flames if you
put different tires on them. thanks for setting things straight!
formula 1 is sooooooo boring if you ever whatch old(ish) f1 races youll se why, Gilles villeneuve slayed every driver, ever. now if cars touch every one shits a brick, also technolagy has takin over and the driver has takein a back seat.
i agree, thats why i said im not too into formula 1. it still takes more skill than any other type of racing, but yeah you can hardly call formula 1 cars, cars. its more like they are racing formula 1 computers. its also kinda whats happening to new cars, so much of it is all computer controlled and there is soooo much technology it takes away the actual driving experience. i drove the new evo and i really didnt like it, like it was fast, you can tell right away that it is a very fast car, but its like your not driving it, you feel seperated and its not very fun at all. i also drove a new rs4 recently and i was also pretty dissapointed, i own a stg 2 b5 s4, and honestly, i like my car better. the rs4 just wasnt fun, it felt like the car kinda did its own thing and you just help it. i even have stock suspension and id say my car felt more sporty too.
i think the best type of racing ive seen in the past couple years was at the scca runoffs. the spec miata class, the spec racer ford's, etc... thats actual racing. its just a plain old car and a driver. no milion dollar computer's making your car run as fast as possible, no 100 person teams, etc.. its almost like racing now is more about technology and car companies showing off their technology than actual racing.
ive seen a modern formula 1 race, and i saw a vitage car race at laguna seca, they had a classic formula 1 class and honestly the old formula 1 cars were sooooo much more fun to watch, and the racing was so much more competitive.
