I have a 2-3 minute clip I want to compress into quicktime format to show some people on the internet. I dont want it any bigger than 10-15 mb but at first when i tried to export it it turned out to be 650 mb. Then I played around a bit and got it down to 100. WHat I want to know is what settings are important to keep high and how to bring it down so its still looks good. By the way it has music.

Compress it with a sorenson or sorenson 3 codec.. that should get it down to around 40 by it self then bring the qaulity down to like 70 percent and compress the sound with the same sorenson codec, that should bring it to where you need it.

versions of quicktime. Try and download Media Cleaner. Or use the save to web feature in premiere.

you need to just get quicktime pro and choose export for web/email. that will compress it to a smaller resolution and be a smaller file size

in the general options for exporting the video, select quicktime movie instead of dv-avi or microsoft avi, then in the video tab select sorensten video 3 as the compression. Video on the web generally has a resolution of 320x240, or something close to that. Keep the quality at 100%, then on the right side check the limit data rate option, and set it to around 150. That should do the trick. You may have to play around with the data rate... you might wana start at 200 and work your way down to whatever works for you.
