What rails we need

For the 2009 whinter we will add some new rails what are your sugestions before we start to weld
we suppose to add rails made with the old tower  of the chair lift in the nordic at saint-sauveur

chairlift tower rail would be AMAZING, I'd do a flat one that you can hit from either the front or kind of sideways, and a lift tower on top of a quarterpipe would be cool too. For the rails I'm not too sure cause i dont remember what you already have

We don't need to build new rails. We can only set them in a new interresting way. Exemple: The down flat down box can become a up flat up, a flat down flat or a flat up flat box.

Last tip: Be creative.

okay we NEED an 's' rail and/or 's' box!! we need it!!

also a roller coaster box would be sick!!! and bring back the booter box, or rail (i.e. a rail or box thats pointing upwards and has a big drop at the end)

oh and a sick rainbow BOX!!! pleaasseeee i wanna learn hand drags over a rainbow box sooo bad!!

oouuhh and one of those "x" boxes like mont st anne has!! like if you go straight its a rainbow box an on either side is a c box!!

A line of big rails would be fun (like the raised flat rail and the large up rail in the chairlift slope last year).

To avoid icy landing caused by riders braking, set up the lines so they can't stop between two rails( it is also funnier to ride a complete line without waiting then to wait for each part of the line.

The rail/box setup at avila last year was perfect, maybe a little more spacing between features would be cool, like the empire rail (flat down flat) and up flat (same level as wave box) we're too close.

The ONLY thing missing right now, would be an urban style staircase setup like they have at Mont saint anne I think?


As usual, the down flat down and flat down box were perfectly setup. Good additions this past year compared to year before. Loved it.

Tanks for all your great comments. Dont forget we want suggestions for new rails not how place old rails but i take note of all your comment for the construction. We can' t take a popular rail/box and set this one in othe way we will keep classsic rails/box we prefer build a new.

Chairlift towers make great bonks as well... chop one in half and stand it up so that its like a high bonk. You know like they've done at mammoth?

Also, setting it up at a 45 degree angle upwards would be awesome, so that you can ride up and use it like a takeoff. Nice 15-25 foot gap off the end of it to landing!

We should get some links to that facebook group in here so people can download it directly!

yeah put back a up box so we can spin a lot off it, but the one we had this year was cool 2. and i love the boxes we had but i heard we gotta change the flat down one? is it possible to make another one cause it was sick and make sure we get lottsa jump just like last year but the jumps on the other side so the landings dont get icy cause its under shadow, but last year, it was a very nice park nice job park rangers!

the problem with the staircase is the insurance last year we can't but eatch year is an other year. Lot of thing suppose to change this year in all mssi parks but avila stay the main. Things are not really clear for the moment but slowly the fog start to clear

last year 50ft end of jump to sweet spot

sweet spot= first 1/4 of the landing

ok is it possible to have them a little bit bigger, but keep the jump line under the slow chairs it was sick especially at the begining of the year! and it was good to learn tricks.
