Fox News and the Neo cons are done for

I was just watching the daily show and realized that the Neocons and their tricks are done for in the future. Most of the US youth are being raised liberally. With the internet, youtube, fourms, youth culture TV, we are being exposed to more different views and ideas. This youth culture machine is revealing their tricks to us. I'm not saying republicans are done for just thats the youth is being raised more liberally than previous generations.
This is no rag on repubs just expressing an observation

doubt it. young people have always challenged the status quo. then they grow up and get more conservative in nature.

Funny thing, once you start earning your own money you want to keep it. Conservatism in the sense of less government will always be around. Neo-conservatism which puts Israels interests before our own will probably die out eventually. I think that each generation is more socially progressive than the last though. Even living kind of in the south it seems most kids don't really have a problem with things like abortion and gay marriage so those will probably be non issues in the future.

Conservativeness is relative. When our kids are super idealistic left wing liberals, we're gonna seem pretty conservative.

Even if he is a little kid why are you getting pleasure from calling him a bitch ass? You always go crazy on these political threads, and everytime a liberal view is posted you bash on it like no tomorrow. Chill the fuck out, express your own views and say why you don't like others instead of just calling them juvenile or idiotic without base. It's really annoying to read posts like that.

whatever, to the thread creator, your "youth culture machine" is simply brainwashing you towards severe stupidity. but please if you'd like to elaborate on how liberal government would improve thing I'd enjoy tearing each of of your arguments down.

from one womanizer to another, why do you fail to see, or get angered at the fact that the current trend seems to be that the younger crowd is more liberal than previous generations?

.... that comeback was incredible. really, how do you do it. seriously dude calm down before you have a heart attack or something

See I'd disagree on that. Its not so much that the younger generation is liberal per say, but the fact that usually they just recant what they've been told. Most public school teachers and the media have left-wing bias, therefore its more of what the kids are exposed to. Younger teenagers like to think they know whats up but they're all just blank slates. Growing up in a suburban US cocoon hardly gives one a grasp of the realities of the world.
Things were much worse for my dad's generation I think, having to grow up around that whole summer of love era.

Summer of love would have been soooooo fun...watching all those amazing bands play, drugs were practically legal, drinking age was 18...oh my gosh.

I actually had the displeasure of being having a 2 day lay-over in Dallas, on my flight to Peru. Politics aside I would have to say in the measly 48 hours I spent there, I discovered that people in Texas are the most brash and bullheaded people I have ever come across.
...just an observation.
but you have to rememeber. the social climate of a country goes through cycles. Right now we are approaching a more liberal social climate. people are tired of what conservative ideals have brought, and they want change, so the natural tendency is to go to the opposite end of the spectrum. Look at the presidential election. Obama is running on a platform committed to change. And McCain (who might be the most liberal republican in Washington) is hard at work trying to distance himself from Bush. For fucks sake there are people in the Republican party that don't even like their damn candidate.
Another good example is France. 5 Years ago, they had the rep of being the most liberal country in the world. The anti-America if you will. Well just recently they elected a president with more conservative policies. And people are actually lobbying for more conservative governmental practices.
My personal opinion... McCain really doesn't really stand a chance in this election. Since the last presidential election, theres been a huge increase the number of younger voters getting involved. Not to mention the fact that a black candidate is running is going to bring out the traditionally non-voting African American population in stronger numbers. And people are still associating McCain with Bush.

haha, i was thinking the same thing reading this thread
there's a reason they don't...liberal's views often represent or support that of a younger generation who think in a certain way and believe they know what they are "all about" for lack of a better term
people need to grow up, make their own money, have to actually pay attention to the economy and make important financial and social decisions for themselves and their families to make an educated decision on who to vote for, due to what they deem best for them. not just say "well barack obama smokes weed and likes to help the poor, so he's cool and hip and i should vote for him".....not saying that's what they all think, but you get the gist

Which doesn't even matter that much right now considering the majority of the population in the US is now seniors, and they will continue to run these elections until that balance shifts.

i live in Canada, and i'm conservative. every once in a while i'll flip on the tv and turn on some good old FOX or CNN, and wonder how they can get away with saying what they do. it is all slander, attacks on people, attempts at brainwashing anyone who watches the stuff.
soooo glad i wasn't brought up amidst shit like that. as far as i'm concerned, the united states need to learn how to clean up their own messes before they decide they're going to fix someone else's. shoving crap like FOX and CNN into people's minds, especially the young, isn't helping.

almost every one goes through a liberal stage, the problem is that some never grow out of it...
JOKES!
i would love to see a poll of people who aligned themselves with the left when they were "young" and see how their views have been shaped and changed as they matured..... once they started paying a mortgage, had a child, pay taxes, ect.....
it would be interesting to see how their views (as a whole generation) have shifted, my bet would be they moved to the right....

Don't know if this quote was in here or not yet..
but Churchill said, "Show me a young republican, and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old democrat, and I'll show you someone with no brain."
People's ideas change as they get older. Think of all the hippies that are now republicans. Just because we have access to more things nowadays and are very liberal at this age doesn't mean we won't change our opinions as we grow older.

well the money from you doesnt just go to welfare. there is that rather costly war going on amongst other things. the nation is in massive debt that we need to get out of

The homeless have mental problems and the government forgets them. The poor that have jobs have less than minimum salary and no one helps them get out of it, just told to work harder and have better jobs. The jobless have been layed off and now you want welfare to be taken away from them. Mothers with unexpected babies were taught abstinence at school, got drunk and had unprotected sex. The US want to outlaw abortion, but complain about large poor families. I dont mind that the government takes money out of my wage. I know that this money insures the city or country to work, while having a safety net to protect from a depression (take a macroeconomics course to understand).
The problem with neo cons, is that they are to damn selfish and single dimensional in their though process. Stop blaming the poor for once and help them.

There is this magical place called "the south" where people live in a little bubble of ignorance waving their patriotic flags with voracious zeal and spreading hate and intolerance for any person who is different from them.
This is where the hard core conservatives come from.

no it didnt, the ending of war sounds like "or" and the ending of poor sounds like "ooor"
and yeah as long as the south is filled with evangelicals, not much of a change then

precisely. i never said it was liberal. but right there you have a great example of two sides just constantly slandering each other. the news shouldn't even pick sides. it doesn't where i live.
but yeah, thanks for taking the time to read and understand what i posted before calling me a dumbass. or not.

wow... the person who made this thread, did you get a degree in domestic retardedness with a minor in international dont-know-shitness?
by saying everyone is growing up liberally and the communist- oh im sorry, you said conservative. so easy to get the two mixed up when you have no clue what you are talking about. back on track here... by saying what you did while grouping every conservative as a "neo con" you're doing one of two things...
1. makes you look like a liberal POS hippy.
2. shows that you are incredibly inclined to vote for the candidate with a title whereas really looking at the person themselves and where they stand on issues and their policies. let me guess you would have voted for ron paul if he was one of the two choices for president, wouldnt you?

well generally a conservative would side more with fox than a more liberal television station such as nbc. so the context in which you made your statement was just a bit backwards

i am a conservative, but i'm not going to support slander from either side. and even if i was an american, i wouldn't side with a tv station in general because that doesn't make much sense at all to me. like i said before, stations shouldn't even be picking sides. it is the medias duty to get both sides of the story, correctly, and as far as i'm concerned american media is doing quite the opposite.

Such a brilliant post! Bravo!
Nothing like calling someone a "liberal POS hippy" to add cred to your argument.
Anyways, hopefully you are right Alta. If Mccain wins it will break my heart. As an American it is your duty to get the current neo-con controlled Republicans out. Anything less says "go ahead, fuck my country up worse than anyone in 100 years, I'll still vote for you."
