Skiing near State College, PA???

Okay so this fall I'll be up at Penn State and the nearest ski slope is Tussey, and I'm not really into skiing like 4 trails and I don't even know if they have a park.
Are there some ski resorts that are near by that maybe I don't know about. Within like 2 hours. Big boulder is like 2 and a half hours away and so is 7 springs according to mapquest.
Any suggestions?

ahh yeahh, I'll be a junior as well. I'm transferring up from little old Mont Alto haha. Yeah I am going to get some more info on the snowboard club. Thanks for the info. I'm stoked on getting to ride with some different people that's for sure. I've been stuck at Liberty Mountain for too long now.

agreed, it was early march when i went and the snow was better and the trails were pretty fun, 2nd best (IMHO and experience) was 7 springs, but def would rather go to 7 springs if between the 2.
Blue knob was great for me bc we went up there late season (a friend and I) and it was like 2 to 3 hours to get there. We get there at about 3:45 and my friend buys some 200 dollar black Helly Hansen pants cuz he wanted new pants (knew they'red be a store there so he waited till then). Then we head to the bar to drink a few before we went out and we start bullshitting with the bar tender. I asked her later in the convo when they close (I meant for the year) and she said 5pm. And my jaw just fucking dropped the mountain closed in about an hour and my friend just dropped decent money on a pair of snowpants. The website states that there is still night skiing (i know now, JUST FUCKING CALL) I went over to the store where my friend just bought the pants and asked to double check (cuz the lady knew we were going out soon and i was wondering why she didn't say anything to us) but i asked nicely and she confirmed the time. there was an old guy in there talking to her and as i was walking out he asked if i just drove up..... told him yes and he said get your stuff and just head out. So i sprint out and get my stuff but forgot my friend didn't have boots (he was borrowing my skis cuz he snowboards and was gonna rent boots) So the guy goes tell him to meet me in the rental shop. Worked out, got to ski for free for 45 minutes, not bad I was real glad he did that and just for that will prob make a trip out that way next season. Turned out the guy was the owner (well one of them) But seriously past all the generosity the mountain is sweet, the lodge blows, but you park/start at the top, it's weird, but def cool. The snow, like i mentioned before is actually really good. the park..... def blows. but they have a fucking school bus in it, but it was late season and there was no way to get up it. The park kinda just had things there, has potential, just need some help with it. Oh and did i mention they have a bar their? With a 3-man shot ski, baller!

I go to high school in state college and i would recomend NOT blue knob... it sucks,
Tussey should not be underestimated it can be quite fun, go there after it snows a bit usually i help them re set up the park so it is good. also i am in the process of trying to convince the manager to get some new features. also i strongly recommend hitting up urban in sc there are some mad fun easy setups with very low bust rates. hope to see you this winter

blue knob blows if you dont get fresh snow. it is solid blue ice other wise. so stam i agree with you but you got like a foot when you were there with fres it is the greatest in pa but with out it sucks. boulder is your best bet.
