i have a hi 8 cam wit some footage that i want to put on my comp to edit. Whats the best way to go about doing this?

get a capture card and decent software. theres lots of articles on this in the media and arts forum that will help

I shoot hi8 and use pinnacle studio to edit. I'd recomend this set up if you're pretty new to vid editing but still wana have a lot of the features of the expensive packages.

I was just about to post the same thing and I saw this, except I have something else...maybe vhs-c. Im gonna go search for some cheap capture cards now, too bad I got fired from best buy.

cheap capture cards give u shitty quality....but digital is soo expensive

im in the same boat. try to find a good tuner (capture) card. And i downloaded adobe premiere 6 and after affects 5. i have alot of footage but i can't do anything with it and it sucks.

like i said the pinnacle studio makes version 7 for AV and comes with an analog caputre card that works fine. I bought mine for round 120 on the web, just search around.
