i just got home from working a 7 hour shift at wegmans and i literally hate work with everything i have. does anybody enjoy their job and look forward to it>? share em.
So, I have three jobs, first is working at a movie theatre about 20 hours a week at minimum wage, it is easy but not much money. Second is working at Walmart unloading trucks, I get paid 9 an hour for that, and get 16-20 a week so it isn't that bad. And third is doing construction with my uncle where I make 11 an hour and get about 10 a week. Then occasionally I get a juggling gig where I charge 30-50 an hour if someone needs me as an entertainment juggler, or if someone needs me to do a show and entertainment it is a flat rate of 300 dollars. The only problem is I don't get many juggling gigs cus there are tons of amazing jugglers in Boulder, and they all drive to Denver.
i work in an eye glass lab. i literally push 4 buttons on a machine for every set of lenses, and sit and watching the machine cut them for 10 minues. i make 11 bucks an hour doing this and its full time

i bus tables at a mexican restaurant...depending on how busy it is, i make $10-20 an hour, but its dope because all the waiters hook me up with food an booze....
I just started work at subway today...
it was a pain and there was usually something to always do and it got very busy at lunch. 2 hours into the job and i was making subs, I was sooo nervous. I got six bucks in tips for the first day. NOT BAD. since i worked like 5 hours. So i was making like almost ten an hour. I feel like shit and i didnt do anything today and its summerr.. So i dont liek work at the moment, but Im sure Ill feel better when I get my paycheck. I need to make money for next seasons gas money, new skis, and new outerwear (jacket torn to shreds lol)
I think this is the first post I ever made. What are you guys doing for $$$ this summer? Hopefully I have an easy job at a grocery store or something like that.
i love my job, i made almost 17$/h working in a hospital dealing with shipping, recieving, just dealing with all the supplies that are in a hospital, and i meen... EVERYTHING.
i also teach skiing and work taking pictures for a website at clubs and events and private parties etc..
last summer i worked 12 hours a week in music store doing like a ton of different stuff (sorting merchandise, labeling rental repairs, polishing instruments, facing shelves, sheet music sorting, recycling, etc). there's lots of really boring stuff and it was only minimum wage but it was all music-related, i liked most of my coworkers, i got to go to the skatepark after, and there was some time where you could just get lazy and not do anything. so overall not too bad. this summer i don't think i'll have a steady job like that but i'm a jazz pianist and gigs have the potential to pay mad scrilla. i love doing jazz for parties, and at the moment i have a steady night gig at a bar on tuesdays. what sucks is that i've been ripped off really bad by lots of people because i'm just 15.
For all of you who are having trouble getting jobs, don't give up! Last year I could not get a job anywhere. There just were not any positions :( So I was rejected from McDonalds, SkiMarket, Bed Bath Beyond, numerous positions bussing tables, etc, you name it, I was rejected from it. I put in over 30 applications that year, nothing! But I worked my ass of in school, and kept on trying, eventually got min wage position in a research lab handling haggard ass chemicals and trying not to electrocute myself from day to day, and hell, now I'm going to medical school! I am extremely excited about this, and am looking forward to working in health care. All I can say is Fuck You McDonalds. I should mail them my acceptance letter. Anyway, the point is you never know what the future holds, so just keep applying.
Now I work at the gym and I'm the programs manager, so I run the summer camps, after school programs, etc. I work there full time and it's fucking awesome. I love the owner, I love my manager, and 99% of the people who work there are wicked cool. We're getting into the slow season so it's all day shenanigans. Yesterday I made an 8 foot tall swing with one of the ropes and strapped the kids from vacation camp into their harnesses and attached them to the swing. The day before that we all put bandanas on and had a huge sword fight. Oh, and I can't forget climbing when it's super slow
Although I don't have much time for anything else, I have to earn money for college and I love my job soo it's not really like it's a job? I mean there are times when we have to take things very seriously and safety is our number one priority, but it's still wicked fun
babysit and mow lawns. that's what i did until i was of age.
but yeah, i can't find a job that allows me to get to swim practices in the middle of the day. i got fired from my lifeguarding job because of partying there after hours. one of my co-workers left a handle of smirnoff in the pool house. i took the wrap for it. meh.
considering applying to starbucks if all else fails.
exactly...... the park i work at has a HUGE man made swim pond (huge sand pool) and two summers ago some little kid drowned... super sad.
i guess it happened right as the guards were starting their shift, so its not like they were 100% there, but shit still hit the fan for them...
for the lifeguards on NS, just dont be a bitch and expect maintenance to come and clean up your garbage you leave by your stands. we have better stuff to do, like cruise the beach checking out the chicks! haha
i WISH we had the park maintenance cleaning our pool they kick ass. we have our own cleaning staff we hire, but im fairly sure i clean more shit than they do...
i used to work at earls and i loved going because the girls were babes and everybody was pretty nice. i was a setter (busboy) so the work was pretty chill and wicked easy. plus my boss was an NLL player.
yeah at my old job, the lifeguards were in charge of cleaning everything up, taking out the trash, cleaning the pool etc. but it was a country club so it was relatively clean to begin with.
it was such an easy job though cause it wasn't a public pool, and i knew all the members. i had the only two saves of the summer: both were visitors who didn't speak english. one was this six year old who didn't know how to swim, but decided he'd jump off the diving board... really smart. the next one we think was an illegal immigrant cause after saving her, she jetted out of the pool area with the kid she was babysitting, didn't give us any information and we never saw her again.
I work landscaping 35ish hours a week in the summer. That gets pretty fucking hot.
I don't mind it much, except having to chose whether I want to sweat even more, or get my legs all cut up by wearing shorts. Either way I end up getting hit in the face with shit constantly (I'm always working the weed wacker)
I think I'd rather do that than be stuck inside all day though. So it's an alright job
She knows what she said, as I'm pretty sure one on Dane Cook's acts is on some guy saying mind-bottling instead of boggling. That or you're completely right.
Anyways i work at a golf course, where my boss is a douche, the members are douches and most the kids i work with are douches. Other than that its not a ton of work. Only 3 more months of work until i got off to university. Then hopefully i can find work through co-op. You make like 18 an hour in co-op, its filthy.
I work for a small independant pizza place, the owner is 25 and a buddy of mine, only 6 of us work there, and I've known 4 of them since highschool. We all smoke weed. Tons of our customers are just our various friends, and is not uncommon to get a smoke out or a beer for a tip on a delivery. Sometimes after work we push the cutting tables together and have some people over and play beer pong. We all go to the same parties. Literally every employee plays guitar, and we have two in the shop. Half of us skateboard, and we have decks in the shop. Most of our customers are reguars and really cool, and we make fun of everyone else.
Its pretty much awesome, I don't really mind going to work. I actually dread going to class way more.
Sounds exactly like Stageline Pizza in Great Falls MOntana. A bunch of my friends work at the one by my house. There is another one in town, on the other side of town and they have this kind of friendly rivalry going all the time and they play each other every year in a game full contact zero pads fucking crazy tackle football.
