So I'm looking for a pow ski to put in my quiver. Live in the east, just want some skis for the pow days. I'll be going out west twice next year, too. I'm 5'6" 140, still growing. I ski 170's for park, so looking at the 176 Gotama and 176 Helix. I figured a couple extra inches will be fine. I'm open to suggestions as I'm sure I missed some contenders. Want something that will do ok on the groomers, too. I have Chronics and Max Peters Pros so I was thinking maybe a little more pow specific? Help me out NS.
This ski is bomber. sounds like just what your looking for. comes in a 180 which may be a little big now, but they're very light and if your a solid skier you should be able to handle them plus you'll probably grow into them nicely so they'll last a while.
Sound like they fit the bill. Really playful too, especially if you want a dedicated pow ski. You might grow out of them though, and it kinda sounds like you are looking for a more traditional width/length pow ski. Its just another option.
from line: stiff - prophet 100s, theyll kill it all over the place. playful - blends, the flex pattern is similar to ur chronics, super bomber construction, and again will kill it all over. fat playful and happy would be elizabeths, which u might grow out of but will be fun.
atomic thugs are way fat, but one of my favorite traditional chamber powder skis. maybe pimps as theyre a little narrower? or even rossi steeze/s6.
its not like ur gonna need something super fat/powder specific. something thatll kill all mountain is more practical while still being fun. u might go out west and not get snow and have something pow specific and not enjoy skiing it.
ur gonna hear me recommend blends 10000000 times this summer/beginning of the season until people get on the new design and see how killer it is, and we'll have a new anthem style explosion
Also Moment Tahoe's. thats the ski i'm getting for next year and im in the same boat as you. ski in the east but head out west twice a year. its a rock solid ski. search bar it.
Thinking more about the Ruby's but not sure about the length. A lot of the pow skiing I do is in the trees and I don't know if I could turn those that quick. Any opinions?
