How can you tell if you have a regular USB port or USB 2.0 port? I just got an Ipod and I need to know before I open the package so I can return the adapter. Can an adapter made for USB 2.0 work on a regular USB port (I doubt it)? Thanks

go to Device Manager under the Control panel, click hardware and then click on the plus sign beside usb controllers. If you see 2.0 or enhanced then you have USB 2.0.

Personaly I believe my short term memory has been affected but that is the main side effect and I also think maybe my short term memory has been affected.

if you just bought it new, you have 2.0. period end. and that device manager shit won't work, cause that's windows stuff.,.... this is a mac we're talking about. it probably says in the manuals for the mac.

No we were talking about PC buddy and it did work. I don't have USB 2.0 so I'm buying USB 2.0 card or Firewire card today.

it is backwards compatible, but before i got USB 2.0 it took like 8 hours to trnsfer 20 gigs of music to mine so the 40 bucks to shave off a few 7 1/2 hours of tranfers time is well worth it!

if you have high speed written in red above 'usb' on the logo(if you have a logo) you have 2.0 i beleive.
