Now that Immortal Technique's new cd is finally out what do you guys think of it? I think it's pretty sick but I personally prefer Revolutionary Vol 1 and 2.

It seems a little overproduced and mainstream. I prefer Revolutionary Volume 2, I like his raw voice over sick beats, not hearing "Green Lantern" yelled over and over. There were a few good tracks on there, but his lyrics and beats have gone downhill since the last album. Hopefully he'll pick it up again in the next album. I would give it 3 of 5 stars.

haven't listened to the whole cd yet, but the 3rd world is a sick song. it's not quite as good as his other shit, but maybe it'll grow on me.

The songs sound a little too mainstream at first but when you listen to the lyrics its the same old technique. I still prefer Rev Vol 2 but I give it a 4 out of 5.

Agreed.
it seems like in previous albums his voice has been one to uplift people with a gritty but inspirational message. Now with the 3rd world it seems like he's yelling his message and it gets quite bothersome.

where? I live in that general vicinity.
But I love the new album. It's a lot more polished than Rev. 1 & 2 and all his other mix takes . I think that's why it took him so long to put out. You can tell he put a lot of time and energy into 3rd World and it definitely shows. Payback, Death March and Mistakes are such sick songs.

I've already been there and back but it was a town called grass valley. Just up I-80 N for about 30 miles then on highway-49 west. It was sick, I just wish it wasn't so smokey so I could have had some better views. But I love california either way.

Ha o shit sorry, from sacramento. And yeah I'd love to move to grass valley. Maybe closer towards tahoe. Its just downright gorgeous out there, even with all the smoke.
but back to the thread...kinda
Tech is coming to IU in like 2 days, I was just on campus today and saw the signs, I'm thinkin I've got to find a way to that show.
