Wide vs Narrow & Stiff vs Soft
Alright, I'm looking for some feedback here on the pros and cons of each characteristic. Basically I'm trying to decide between Volkl Walls and Line Anthems for next season and I'm having a hard time debating the merits of stiff vs soft and wide vs narrow. Obviously, Walls and Anthems are very different park skis, and I'm not sure which style would best suit me and where/what I ski. I live in MN, much prefer skiing park but do ski a fair amount of all mountain when other people are out with me. I'm 5"10, 175lbs.
I currently have Fujitives, which are too noodly when I'm cruising around, but it doesn't sound like that's an issue with Anthems and definitely not the Walls.
Any thoughts, suggestions, etc would be great!
PS-I've used the search ball a lot to try to answer this, but still don't really have enough feedback.

ehh if ur 175 lbs and ur fujis feel noodly i'd go with walls. you'll definitely feel a lot more stable on those.

Right well i have ridden both the Walls and the Anthems last season.. i guess it depends on 3 things..1) if you think the price step up to Walls is worth it? 2) If Volkl have fixed the Walls so the bindings don't pull out? 3) What type of skiing you are planning on doing?
Basically I think the Walls are undeniably better all mountain skis.. they hold up better at speed due to the stiffness and are really responsive.. i actually did a day of racing on the walls and they were really good! they held up well on rails for me but were a bit stiff for buttering.. they felt solid on landings and were a little on the stiff side for any pow you might get..
Anthems were softer, held up less well at speed (if you really mach it you get wobbles), more buttery, just as good on rails and had a little more give on landings (which I like because i'm light).. they are also cheaper which is nice and the soft flex makes them ok for the odd bit of pow..
my $0.02 is that if you ride a pretty high % all mountain and Volkl have fixed the binding issue then maybe go for the Walls. Otherwise I would save some cash and just go for the anthems. I bought the Walls in the end but i would have been better off on Anthems i think.. (well i broke the Walls so..)

Thanks! That's good feedback.
I do love flying down runs, and in MN it's always icy, so the Walls would be better for those conditions. But, there isn't much vertical drop here either, so even when I'm not skiing park I spend a lot of time just messing around finding little jibs and stuff. So that'd be a vote for the Anthems.
How are wider skis for rails? And is a 93 waist really going to be that much different from 87?
I'm assuming that Volkl fixed the manufacturing issues with the Wall. Price isn't really a decision factor; I just want to choose the ski I'll be happier with.

I think it is probably safe to assume volkl fixed the walls yeah. the walls will definitely be better than the anthems for flying down pistes. as i mentioned i actually raced on them once just for fun and they held up great.
I think you will barely notice the difference in an 87-93 waist.. i dont remember noticing much difference.. the anthems will be slightly more stable on rails and the walls are quicker edge to edge. the anthems are lighter though which could be a factor if you want to really spin fast. but in the park they will both be a great ski for you.
If its gonna be icy alot the stiffness of walls will help you out a lot on piste. My opinion is that barring any manufacturing issues, the wall will be a better ski for you. Any ski that you use on rails alot will struggle to grip on really icy pistes because the edges will be fucked. If my Walls hadnt had binding pullout twice this season then i would say they were the best ski i ever used. Anthems were also a good ski, really great in the park but all mountain i found them a little lacking.

i dunno if you are being sarcastic but loads of people had the bindings pull out of their walls. apparently volkl is treating it as a defect.. and Walls are also made in china..

the binding pull out problem was because volkl recommended to drill the ski with a hole too big, so the screws weren't in tight enough or something i'm not sure. next years are fixed though. and if ur really worried just helicoil them. but durability wise, volkl vrs. line...theres no question.
