im going to be a senior this upcoming year and UVM is my favorite school ive visited so far but have no idea what my chances are of getting in

I have a 92.6 or 3.7 GPA
in National honor society
im in 1 AP class
Sat Score       620 Math 590 Critical reading 540 Writing
i haven't gotten back my ACT's yet



can anyone help me out and lemme know if i have a shot

I got in this year and I'll tell you everything I got on my transcript.


i go to a prep school, did varsity soccer and baseball junior year, soccer senior year, 2 community service trips to Paraguay in the past 2 years with school, about 160 hours.

about a B- average unweighted, with 2 aps senior year and 1 junior year.
SATS i got 610 math, 540 reading, 650 writing
make sure after you send in your application keep on e-mailing the school, asking questions, showing you are interested.  That defenitly helps

yea, i'd say you're pretty much in. That's a crazy good GPA. If you're from Vermont, then you're a shoe-in. They also fiend people from Boston suburbs and NY suburbs, even public school kids.

ur GPA looks awesome but u might want to get your SAT score up a little thats like the bottom of what they want i think...
im gonna be a senior next year and ive got a
3.4 GPA
Reading 650
Math 640
Writing 720

Your other shit looks good though so it just depends what they're lookin for
UVM is also my top school cause my dad works therr so its FREE :)

You'll have no trouble getting in.

I'll be a freshman there this year, and senior year I had a 93.4 GPA, NHS, 2 AP classes, and an SAY score of 570 math, 570 CR, 590 writing.

AND I got good money, so you probably will too.

haha

i went to small public school in northeast ohio, finished with a cumulative around 3ish, didn't take any AP classes or anything challenging, only had 4 years of track+field and some other mixed things for extras.

and they toss mad money at me to help pay for me to go there.



its hilarious that kid's parents are willing to spend so much money on bullshit things like prep school, when somebody who got a GED for free will end up in the same place as you.

I'm pretty sure that I barely made the cutoff for getting into UVM. I have an 88 average, for the SAT's, i got a 700 on the math, and on the english sections i got a 460 and a low 500. I got into the srts and science college, but I transferred into the Engineering college. I would not have made it into the Engineering college with those scores, but luckily they took a chance and let me in.

as long as youre out of state youre golden. its more difficult to get in for in state students because their tuition is cheaper...


but by the looks of it...they cant reject you.

I had a 3.8 GPA with 3 AP Classes this past year *(senior year)*...NHS...No real extra curriculars or community service and I got in..I have been working since i was a freshman...You shouldn't have a problem

you obviously know this, but they take alot of other things into consideration...if, when the time comes to apply, and you aren't sure how you stand try setting up an interview and letting them know how much you love their school and that you are excited at the possibility of going there...feed their ego, so to speak.

Colleges are looking less at SAT scores these days and more at what classes you took, what you did outside of school, etc.

I'll be a senior this year and UVM is my top choice also.  My GPA is slightly better and my SATs are slightly worse.  I hope my athletics and being from out of state will help.

yeaah ive got the same thing goin.. 3.7 gpa but shitty SAT scores.. UVM looks pretty fuckin sick but idk if i can get in.  but also theres tons more a school like that will look at.. ive heard they arent looking at scores half as much as other schools

damn, UVM is really upping the requirements to get in these days. I just graduated this year and my grades were pretty good in high school but i know kids who got in with under B averages and 1100 on the old SATs (before the writing section).

also im pretty sure its actually easier to get in instate seeing as its a state school. yeah you pay them less but there are so few kids in vermont anyway it wouldn't really even matter if they just let all graduating high school seniors in automatically (which they are actually considering doing, so i am told)

I hope all you kids with 3.8s and shit get in and do really well cus it'll only make my degree look better
