I'm headed there this fall and wanna know if any of you are going as well, or currently go there. how do you like it and how often do you get to ski?

I'm definitely applying. I hope I get in...so I'd like to ask the same questions. (I'll be in 12th grade next year, so I'd be in it when this dude is in his 2nd year)

i know their biology department is pretty dope but im not sure about enviornmental science. i'd imagine it is also strong.
Colby is ~ 1:15 from sugarloaf i hear, and 2:00 from sunday river. Saddleback is supposed to be dope too, and its real close to the loaf. i wanna head up there as well.
one good thing for all you skiers is that we get like 20 days winter break, then we have jan-plan, where you take 1 class (i think just 1) for all of january (leaving a ton of extra time to ski or do whatever). then we have a spring break at the end of march too (spring skiing!)

sugarloaf is amazing in the spring but youll realize you need a lot of layers there in the middle of the winter
and saddleback is great if your there just to ski, they dont have much of a park. the last time i went, you had to go straight from the top to clear the one jump they had at the bottom... and it was only like a 20 foot table, but the glades and all the black diamonds are amazing trails

I go to Colby, I should be a sohpomore this year but im taking this fall semester off.
As they said, biology is very good, but I'd say the entire science department is pretty good.
It's cold too, bring a scarf.

im gonna be a senior there this fall. we have a pretty solid crew of skiers that ride park, we do a fair amount of filming. this year i built us a 20' rail, welded steel, on wood supports, i'll post some pics from the winterfest rail jam as soon as i can, or if A Lo sees thread he can post some. the ski scene is pretty dope in general at colby. were only an hour from the loaf and about an hour and 40 from sunday river, and almost the entire school skis or snowboards. There are a few good jibs on campus, one (the chapel) is in the edit i have on here, which i got jan plan credit for making. theres also a huge s kink rail and a down flat down on campus, and a gnarly down flat down in waterville which was in a sic films movie a few years back.
All times are Eastern (-5)
