Replying to A much needed change has happened in the sport?
Well it seems like the driving force behind all sports, the people, have once again caused change to happen. Last year there were a lot of hate threads (what am I saying, every year has a lot) towards big spins, poles vs no poles, and steeze in general. As the trailers for new movies to be released this fall trickle onto our screens I am beginning to see change in the way it's being done.
Movies seem to be taking a more laid back and relaxed manner than they used to. No poles are showing up more than ever now in the big leagues. For example Andy in the latest Hunting Yeti release was rocking the no poles backcountry on the booters, and made it look good every hit. I just watched the Slamina trailer and spins are being toned down and the style is beginning to flow. I'm really enjoying the way things are going.
Are big spins being reserved for the comps? I don't think so. There is the odd 10 here and there for a big jump, maybe even a double of some sort. Everything else seems to be between 5-9 with a variety of grabs.
What other trends have you witnessed over the past year?
