Sampling vocals?

How do you sample vocals from other songs without having the beat or melody behind the vocalists voice? I'm trying to figure it out. I guess I could just get instrumental versions of the songs, Im not really sure. I couldn't find one for "Hood took me under" by comptons most wanted though. Helpz

Essentially you cannot do it. How do you get the eggs out of a baked cake? Impossible to do 100%. What you can do however... is if you have the exact same instrumental as is under the vocals, if you invert the polarization of the instrumental and put it under the song, then you should be able to essentially remove the beat, though the vocals will sound funny. Another way to do it is figure out what frequencies the voice is in and basically cut out all other frequencies ( you will still get a bit of the beat however... )

and the voice will sound dodgey too, best way is to find an Acappella, (just vocals no backing)

Sweet, but he probabaly cut out everything but the midtones, the midtone is where most of the vocals are.

highfive knows what's up. Also sometimes in older music everything is panned out into just left or right channels(for instance the drums will be strictly coming from the left & the violins in the right), you can sample just 1 channel in instead of taking both. Usually main vocals are centered for the most part though.

I know this should be in media and arts but I think this should be shown to the masses. This program is going to be huge when it comes out. Basically what it does is it lets you take total control of every note in your audio samples. And I mean total. Wanna change the pitch of a certain note? You can do that. Actually Grifter is also right. when you remove all the other frequencies it might isolate the vocals for the most part but it'll obviously remove those frequencies from the vocals making them sound pretty hollow
