you know that noise your computer makes when it crashes or something, the one that doesn't come from the speakers but from within the computer?
well, mine's doing that a lot now, when it shouldn't be.
for example if you type in something too long to a text box, the computer normally makes a small noise through the speaker. but now its making this fucking beep after almost every thing i do and its pissing me the fuck off. my computers not crashing or anything, its just beeping like it is going to crash
any ideas? i wanna do everything i can before i kick it *ahem*

build your own computer, guaranteed it won't do that shit, and building a computer is as easy as putting together a bed from IKEA. unless of course you can't fit pieces of swedish furniture together, then continue buying lousy OEMs and getting pissed at them

I'm actually planning on doing that 'cause my current computer can't edit shit. I just need to do some work to get the funds, cause I'm getting a new camera too.
It's an HP, to answer your first question.

reboot. If your computer is doing something strange, reboot it. Rebooting solves a lot of computer problems.
However, the beeping noise is coming from your hard drive, so if a reboot doesn't fix it, you might have problems.

A beep usually means that something is disconnected or not working properly. Every component emits a different beep, look up the beep on the owners manual, or search it online

It's fine now. I can't remember when or how it stopped but I know that I didn't do anything... probably just rebooted or something
