What's your parents take on drinking?

My mommy bought me a 6 pack yesterday! I just turned 16.
I love my mommy.     =)

my mum comes home with a few bottles of cider for me every few evenings, I'm moving out in a few months, that'll be the thing I miss most.... That and the washing and ironing, and the food making, and the free accommodation, damn I'm gonna miss home...

18 now (in the us). got caught at 17 stealling a 30 pack from a local firehouse, then a week later the cops got called to a party i was at.  All in all i played off like i didnt drink any of the 30 (to the whole fire department, and parents), and that i wasn't drinking when the cops busted the party. Just play it cool and dont act sketchy and dont be a dumbass, test the waters and learn your limits.

im 18 now and orig from australia where its 18 to drink legally so they know i drink dont care as much. aslong as i dont drive they are pretty legit

My dad picked me up from my friends house at 5:30 am when I was puking my guts out and laughed at me,  knowing that he's been through the same shit many a time before. They don't really care anymore because I'm not tooooo young. I'm 18 now.

yeah, but learn your limits in a safe environment. people test their limits in the worst situations, and thats how people get in trouble for drinking, most of the time.

well, in the past week ive been offered beer like 5 times from my mom, her bf, and my dad.
today my dad asked what kind of beer my brother likes so his gf could pick some up on the way home. he didnt want any though becasue he was still hungover from last night.

so basically, they dont care as long as your not stupid about it.

haha i got sloshed with all my friends parents and my parents this weekend, some superbad shit. my parents dont give a fuck now that im done with school.

yeah parents are always concerned with not even their child, but how other kids will effect their own kid. thats why you see parents sometimes trrying to influence their kids to kick it with THIS kid, or chose their friends somehow for them subliminally. im 20, and ive been dealin with the drinking thing for a lot longer than you prolly. parents still dont care, they see me coming down the home stretch and they're like, ha ya you're 21 in our eyes, but when you get in trouble, you're still 20... and fucked. so i understand / appreciate the concern from that corner of the room. but if you're in highschool n drinking, higher chance you're gonna get in trouble, you're on the police's radar when you're in highschool man they're lookin for you trust me. college even the same way, moreso. because theres people that got away with it in highschool that do it even more frequently in college because of that, theres the people that share my mind set, that A) im 20 and can deal with my own shit 2) im 20 and think im 21. C) i just would drink beer anyways. haha funny ass story right here that might work for your mom if you know how to pick your spots.

i'm drinking with my homies in a nice house basement, parents are home but it's just late at night after a lacrosse game in highschool. nice area, no way to even remotely get in trouble doing what were doing. and his mom comes downstairs and we're all just watching a movie drinking what seemed like a beer each or maybe two including an empty a piece on the table because the other 30 empties were in the garbage.... LOL.... and his mom comes down and she starts flipping a shit, much of the same reacting i bet you had to experience cept in an enclosed space where she could easily start backhanding you, SO I DIDNT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT part... but she was freakin, cuz we were like 18 and she was a pushover mom and rich and didnt have anything else to do but put the hammer down. she even like, paused for a few seconds like she wasnt even caring... i was stoked, then she starts trippin on my friend, his mom. and his argument was basically. MOM, IT COULD BE A LOT WORSE TRUST ME, WE COULD BE DRIVING AROUND RIGHT NOW AND DOING GOD KNOWS WHAT FOR ALL YOU KNOW. NO, WERE RIGHT HERE IN THE BASEMENT, SITTING, WATCHING A MOVIE. IT COULD BE A LOT WORSE MOM, WE COULD BE DEAD... (and i think at that point i chimed in and said "yeah mrs. sulzbacher" then i got told to be quiet, but i think that statement really calmed her down, because all she said was ok henry we'll talk in the morning. and so she went upstairs and we went back to drinking and he dealt minorly with it the next morning.

tell your mom you promise promise promise, say that shit. that you'll never drink and drive, EVEr, period. case and point. bam. good luck to you man.

my dad doesn't give a fuck. he gives me beers all the time when my mom isn't home and stuff. basically this is what he says...i don't care if you drink as long as you stay there and don't drive drunk or with anyone drunk. if the cops come, run cause i know you are fast as shit. call me and i'll come get you. don't let your mom know you drink.

now my mom...oh god my mom. she is a fucking nazi. she tells me how if i get caught drinking it will be the end of my life and how if i drink i'll be an alcoholic cause my dad is. i have learned to just block her words out of my ears.

i got caught last year while in breckenridge on vacation. my cousin and i headed out early and i bomb the first run, completely oblivious to the fucking huge icy bumps coming up. i die at like a million miles an hour and break my thumb. so we go back to the condo and decide to get drunk and play ps2. our dad's come home earlier than expected and he was 19 and his dad knew he drank and my dad just sat there and talked to me while laughing at how shitfaced i was...it was a good time.

im not sure if my parents know i have drank and im (15)
but the other night i was bein a burnout played halo 3 on xbox live for 11 hours and didnt sellp all day and my dad thought i was hungover in the cra he was asking me if i needed some aspirin and shit it was weird but i didnt upfront him bout it cuz i dont want to get caught but i would just keep it on the down low and let yourself sober up before you come home

My parents don't really care if I drink as long as I dont get into a car. my mom tells me to call her and she will pick me up and ask no questions. My parents know I have smoked and don't love it, but they know they can't do that much to stop me, but I dont smoke that often so its not that big of a deal.

my mom is against it..last night my twin sister ratted out me and some girls i was with for drinking. my sister told me that no one will want to be my friend if i drink haha.

My parents didnt care too much, aslong as i didnt get written off, they were mad when i would throw up in my shower but its all cool, aslong as they picked me up and i was in a good enough state. now im 19 (legal age here is 18) so i get written off atleast once a week and their used to it. if you live in the states it suck you have such a wait till you get to 21, drinking age should be 18 everywhere i think thats a good age, 16 is too young, i dnt understand 19 and BC/Canadas view there??

My Parents are pretty against it, they've read all the studies about it wrecking your brain.  I drink pretty often, they've caught me a few times but haven't said much.  They flipped out one and grounded me for a couple of weeks, but I think it was mainly because I was sneaking out drunk.  They kind of turn a blind eye to it as long as i'm not shitfaced they will make small comments but can never prove i'm drunk.  I'm a pretty sober drunk if I have to be.  But they are still against it and would kill me if I can home off my face.

im pretty open with my parents about everything including the fact that i smoke weed. my mom hates it, but my dad lived on haight ashbury during the 60s so he understands where im coming from on the topic. neither of my parents really care if i drink though.. as long as im not driving, or come home stubbling and just straight hammered.

mine are pretty gay about it right now.. mabe cuz im still 15. they dont care at all with my sister now who is seventeen (canada) so knowing them theyl probably loosen up by next year ahagha

My Dad did AA in 1992 and hasn't drunk since.

my dad is a criminal defence lawyer so he claims hes seen peoples lives ruined by alchohol. he says if he ever catches me drinking he'll turn me in at the police station. also if i go to a party he calls the police so i baseically cant go to any parties cause i dont want my friends to get arrested.

I'm the second of two boys. My bro is 18 and about to graduate. He's been drinking since freshman year and smoking since 8th grade. Haha I remember when I was in 7th grade he would use me as a middle man to the kids he was dealing to in 8th grade (I'm two years younger than him, a sophomore). Anyways last year my mom asked me if I'd ever smoked before and I was like yea Ben (my bro) smoked me up for the first time the summer going into 9th grade, and she was like alright just don't make a habit out of it. Recently I've been going to parties with drinking and shit, and she knows what's going on too, she's no dummy. If I'm coming home after I make sure to be ok, I'll smoke some hookah, maybe have a beer or two, as long as she can tell I'm not drunk/high she is cool. If I'm planning on getting messed up I basically make sure that I'm not going home that night.
Recently she's been laying down lines like, "5 more months 'till your brother is out of here, I can't wait" then she says something like if I start drinking like my bro she'll kick me out of the house (keep in mind my bro comes home drunk or at least high 3-4 days a week).
So I really don't know, at first she seemed chill but now she's starting to tighten up which sucks. Everyone is always telling me how I have it so easy cause my bro already "broke my mom in" already, but it seems like she's gonna be more strict with me than with my bro.

my parents weren't hyped about it when i was like 15 but junior senior in high school they knew it went down same with college but they knew i was pretty responsible. now i am 21 and they could care less.
