Replying to What's your parents take on drinking?

So, my friends and I were drinking tonight at this girls house, and once it was over, we went over to her other house to chill and get picked up. I called my mom when I thought I was sober and asked her to pick me up.

Once I got in the car however, she started complaining about a gum-like smell, and I told her a couple of my friends were drinking, and I just had a couple sips of beer. She obviously tore through that alibi and she pretty much told me "Don't give me that bullshit, I did so much of that when I was a kid, believe me, you won't fool me." in a joking kind of tone.

So I told her the whole story and she just told me that although she was somewhat comforatable with me and me being responsible, but she was worried that other people I was with might cause some trouble and I'll be dragged along with it.

She seemed ok with the idea of me experimenting, but was worried that it might lead to trouble further along the way, like drugs, smoking and what not. So I'm just wondering what your/your parents take on drinking at a young-ish age? (15)

And for the people who are older, how did you turn out?
