Height weight ability?

Whenever youre in the gear section and someone is asking about what ski/boot/blowup doll to buy... the first reply is always, Height? Weight? Ability?

Instead of having to have that be the first reply, there should be some sort of survey for all things gear related in the create thread part.

so before you post, you just do the survey, show your stats, then post your question, then the stats are saved to your profile, and you can update them when you ask the same question next season.

ya? no?

I think it is a good idea... databases could be built, and then instead of asking everyone and having the forums inundated with the same question all the time, you could just go look and see what would work best...

or use the reviews i guess.

I wouldn't deem a database of everyones specs valid since most here are still growing anyways and things would change every few months

ahh yes true indeed, but is not the point of a database to be able to predict the next logical step (in this case) ? so I grew 7 inches this summer and put on 15 pounds, whats a better option?

look up the db and bam, a selection of skis to review.

That actually would be sick, so for the Gear Talk and Buy/Sell/Trade forums before you posted the thread you'd have to put in weight/height and abillity, kind of like in reviews.  That would be dope, and we wouldn't necessarily need to save the info, you could just put it in each time.

The thing is that it would have to show up in the thread; it would be a waste of time for everyone to have to go into everybody elses profile to find out that stuff.

if someone really wanted to know it would still be quicker than asking the person, all you have to do is click the person's name, if youre too lazy to click someones name then im pretty sure you dont really need to know that bad

im pretty sure if you couldnt read it out of someones profile and you wanted to know then youd have to ask, which takes more effort, more time, and more patience... if you cant click a name and then click back then you really dont need to know that bad
